Well, I think it's interesting reflecting back on it now. Because even if Tszyu had more power, well, then Pac has at least helped further illustrate that it's not the power, but the technique.
I wonder what's the 95% of the respondents who voted for Tszyu are thinking now! Hatton walked through Tszyu's best punches yet he crumpled against Pac's!
My opinion stays the same. Tszyu hit harder. He didn't have anywhere near the same handspeed, nor the lateral movement to create the angles. Hatton crowded him, and didn't let him get any leverage on his shots. Remember the ref let him basically wrestle Tszyu! Nonetheless, I do think that Pacquiao has more one-puncher power than I originally thought.
I intentionally waited until after this fight to declare my vote and I think now the edge goes to Pac. His power not only is evident in the higher weights, his speed is still top notch and the combination of both with excellent technique really makes him a lethal puncher.
you mean the old almost shot version of zoo? zoo imo still has the edge when it comes to one punch power at 140lbs. but pac is damn close. and btw you do not judge one punch power in one fight.
Tszyu was old and shop warn and never got off the kinds of shots that Manny hit Hatton with. Tszyu still hit harder IMO, but Pac proved that he at least belongs in the discussion now.
Tszyu never had the protection of Mayweather and Pac. It is unfair to judge their power by their respective fights with Hatton. Tszyu fought/wrestled a hungry Hatton with a biased ref in Hatton's hometown. Pac fought an older superstar Hatton with great protection by the ref. I think Tszyu has more power but Pac's power and blinding speed are more effective. I wonder what would have happened if a younger Tszyu fought Hatton with a referee like Kenny Bayless in the ring. Not take anything from Pacquiao because it was an absolute destruction by possibly the greatest fighter of his generation.
in terms of pure power its tszyu. but speed+power= 100x destructive than any pure power out there. E = mc2 much like how and atomic bomb is made mass and speed of light.
