At what weight would Mayweather have to beat Pacquiao to become p4p No.1?

I would not have taken Pacman from his p4p spot if he had lost to Ricky, unless he'd have been outclassed really, really, badly...but anything close to a B+ level performance would have been enough for me to keep him at p4p No.1.

...and...I won't take JMM from the No.2 spot even if he gets KOed by PBF...there's much too great a gap between their weight-classes...JMM isn't even a bona fide 135 lbs fighter, never mind anything more than that...

...and...KOing JMM will not be enough to get PBF back into the Top 10 p4p for me...he needs to beat a true WW like Berto for that...:good

Any weight, Pac's coming to 47 though, who else is he going to fight at 140? All his options are at 47 anyways.

:thumbsup I give you props man, because it looks to me like most people are already getting ready to hand over JMM's #2 spot to Floyd regardless of the weight class shenanigans in order to hype the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight that much more. It seems like outside of the message boards, most people just don't pay the attention to actual weights you'd think they would seeing as how the list is called "pound for pound". No shortage of irony there.

i voted 140. but given that floyd might have a hard time making 140 this time because he is the naturally bigger guy, a catch-weight of 143/144 would be fine.

Mayweather only becomes p4p #1 after fighting and defeating Cotto and Mosley

    i got your point. :D

but i rate pac's victory over hoya at 147 much better than most people here in ESB so pac in turn has proven partially that he can be a WW if needed and fighting and beating pac at a catchweight would be enough for me to make him #1 again.

He weighed in at 138 lbs for the Hatton fight, mate...

...this suggests he wouldn't be killing himself to make 135 lbs, especially looking at the tiny little bit of extra fat he had on...

...he might perform better weighing in over 135, but let's not kid ourselves. Pacman is still more or less an 135 lbs fighter fighting above his weight. No?

Why should he give Mayweather such an advantage and still be very, very harshly treated if he doesn't win?

As I said before, would Pavlik be considered p4p No.1 if he beat Mayweather at 160 lbs? Same goes in this case. Or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

I hope Manny/Arum play hardball over the weight - if they don't get 143/144, walk away. Even fight other WW's at 147, but stick to the catchweight with Floyd.

If it's to be billed as a "p4p" fight, make it at an appropriate weight. If the fight doesn't happen, it hangs heavier on Floyd.

No higher than 140, but i don't believe Floyd has the work rate to beat Pac at any weight.

You guys are tripping if you think Floyd will fight at 140 and risk being weight drained.
Look what Happened to Morales and Oscar both weight drained when Pacman forced them down

    Catchweight seems fair

    :-:)verysad:-(

Why doesn't Mayweather fight Williams at a catchweight between 147 and 160? Huh?
