What happened to better defense such as hands up and blocking with the gloves? I thought there was going to be better combination punching from Hatton, such as punching to the body and than the head? Instead his body punching looked like complete crap.

Even though Hatton was fighting #1 P4P fighter in the world, he looked like a complete amatuer.

There are two ways the defeat Hatton.the PBF way: more technical, more patient and the Pac way.fight fans pornography.

People never seem to grasp how hard it is to effectively throw to the body. It's always just "oh man, he'll go to the body and it'll be over". It doesn't work that way people.

Everyone has a plan until they get hit. If Pacs shots did not hurt him then Hatton might have implemented that game plan.

The problem was Hatton is that he's an idiot, he's a face first brawler, that knockout shouldn't have happened if he actullay listened to Mayweather Sr. That straight left to the face could of easily been blocked, if Hatton had his hands up.

Hatton is an experienced pro, he's been hit numerous, Hatton is just terribly overrated, and a B level fighter.

It was all a clever ploy to get Pac's team off any "screwing with success" notions. Apparently, it worked.

you can't defend what you can't see. like hatton said after the fight, he can't see the punches coming. pac's hand speed is simply phenomenal. and combined with power, it's a lethal combination as hatton unfortunately found out.

He also couldn't see them because he kept his chin so high in the air, it looked like he was making a study of the arena lighting.

Good post. When the guy in front of you is punching back, he might hit you on the chin before you can deliver an effective bodyshot. There is a bit of technique involved to getting inside without getting hit. Sadly Hatton never really learned it.
