    He has a HOf resume...(not 1st ballot)

but for someone who everyone claims was an average fighter....(that BS)

Ricky was a World Class fighter....he may never have beaten a Pacman or Floyd even Pre Tszyu...but he acheived alot.

More than anyone would have expected.....7 years ago.

He was the UD Light Wleter Champ beat most of his top challengers...Kod an ATG Tszyu when he was P4P and destroyed a past prime but still excellent win in Castillio.

Then he goes up in weight and beats a very under rated Collazo.

fights the 2 greatest fighter of the past decade and come sup short.

for me no other Brit fighter comes close to his accomplishments/personal challenges.

He could have stayed with Frank Warren and made countless defences ALA JOE Calzaghe...and become a statistic...but he wanted more than that ...he had ambition....he wasnt as calculating as Calzaghe when picking his opponents....

He fought in America several times against World Champs....
an Honest guy who wanted to be the best but fell short.

Well DOne Ricky you have nothing to be ashamed of.

    Ps.

Ricky didnt deserve to become P4P like Mayweathe ror Pac...

    he didnt live the life...

no matter what u say about Mayweather he is a real work horse in the gym...and lives the life...people who sacrifice tend to get rewarded.

His lifestyle was why his career stagnated...unfortunately, stout, fish and chips is not the breakfast of champions!!!!!!!!

You cant have this as an excuse, Pacs life outside the ring is much more chaotic than Rickys. ****in Benitez would **** a prostitute and party the night before the fight and hes great.

Will you guys stop with this. I must say though that Rickys a classy guy, hate to see him go out like this and yes hes a HOF

I agree. He was never the most technical boxer but did very well with what he did have. Add to that the fact that he never had a decent trainer and was a fast-food junky ****-head with paper skin and he didn't do too bad.

Ricky's life syle outside of the ring isn't chaotic. It is actually very settled. I think the origial poster is pointing out the dietery and partying lifestyle Ricky chooses to lead. Someone like Benitez could get away with it to a certain extent because he was so physically talented. Hatton isn't blessed in that way so he really should have looked after himself better. Hatton only really has himself to blame in that respect but still, for a short, fat Manc he really has done better than expected.
