Hatton is an elite fighter, he deserves respect. He ain't no quitter and did the best he can.

He is below PBF and Pacman but a world class fighter.

I agree with Hatton not being an elite fighter, but is it his fault some in the media and some in the boxing world attempted to treat him or elevate his name along with others on the elite stage? Is he supposed to say "No don't mention my name along with Mayweather or Pacquiao, I am just not worthy to fight any of them". The guy was a champion and champions have to defend their belts or in some cases move up to challenge other champions and get more belts. This is nothing new; many non elite fighters attempt to challenge, or defend against, elite fighters and get their asses handed to them. He never claimed to be the top P4P guy, he only stated he was fighting for the P4P title against Mayweather and against Pacquiao. I disagree in that he was claiming to be something that he was not, and if he hyped himself up to a certain degree, I don't see how that is different than what most atheletes do in order to prepare themselves mentally.

Hatton made everyone in the UK apart from hardcore boxing fan's believe that he would be the No.1 P4P fighter in the world if he beat Pac.

He talked constantly about fightng for the P4P title and all the media picked up on it, and that's all we ****ing heard over here.

Then, Pacquiao exposed that ass for good and i'm glad! :good

    Hatton is elite.
He beat HOF Tszyu, he was a force at 140 pound for years. He deserves respect. He beat lots of world class opponents. he is just not on the level of PBF and Pac. We should all leave it at that.

No he has never beaten world class opponents. He beat a Koysta who was half retired and then he had the help of a ref who allowed Hatton to illegally maul, hold, and rabbit punch. **** Hatton. He wouldn't fight Floyd at 140, he wouldn't fight Witter, he wouldn't fight Torres, he wouldn't fight Holt, he wouldn't fight Bailey, he wouldn't fight Corley, he wouldn't even fight Ngoudjo. Hatton is a club fighter at best and his career is a testament to the fact that he knew that and took safe fights so he could have megapaydays.

To think the s.o.b. tried to **** on Witter and keep that man from getting the ring title and a payday because he knew what Hatton was and called him on it.

I agree with you only in that Hatton's best days are behind him. Hatton has beaten top tier competition when he beat Kostya Tyzu. Hatton should definetly retire now with a nice career and money to boot.
Paq is a great fighter. Love to see what happen with this guy. He hasn't been stopped since he was 21 years old or something like that. If Mayweather gets past JMM I think there will be one hell of a fight to be made. If JMM gets past Mayweather I think we will see a trilogy.

That's the most overrated part of Ricky's carrier. After he beat the old Tszyu
who the **** did he beat? He only fought 5 TIMES @ 140 after he became the top 140 fighter. And who were the best fighters he fought out of those 5? Malignagi and Urango :patsch

Hatton started to believe his own hype, didn't take his sport seriously ( lager) and paid the price.
Had his trainers tried to develop him when he was 20, instead of treating him like a cash cow, he could have been world contender.
Now it's too late, his chin and youth are gone, and he should call it a day.
He also should apologise to the boxing community for believing he was competing for the PFP no 1 spot.

Oh, and Bazooka, i enjoyed taking your money.

'Fraud' might be an overly pejorative term; Bigreg put it well.
