No,I saw the Johnson vs Willard fight in Havana. I'm talking about years before when they both went to prison after the fight.
Johnson vs Choynski filmed would be a huge find. There is a much better chance of a Greb fight surfacing.
I would say the odds of your guy having the film is 100-1. If he's got it, PM me, I have some stuff not listed on web sites to offer.
This was a different time and place. Jeffries seemed to be the only logical answer in defeating Johnson. Jeffries retired undefeated, no man came close to beating him, could out last him, he was never knocked down, let alone looked at any one time shaken up in a fight. Had he come out of retirement at any time between Hart and Johnson's reigns as champion, I believe the public would have taken to Jeffries claim as being the true champion, rather than Tommy Burns' claim. As a matter of fact, Jeffries was scheduled to face Bill Squires for the HW title some years after he retired, but it never came off...and this was when Burns was champion. Tyson, on the other hand, we knew he was beating up nobodies, and we seen him lose before. It was always in the air. It wasnt so much a question of if he was to lose, but when and what round. Tyson was no longer invincible, hadn't been since 1990. Jeffries, on the other hand, was still fresh in people's minds as having never lost, or came close to defeat. He might as well have been superman in the publics mind.
