It would have been hard for him to take a round off. Either he would come forward and be countered with the left like which happened or Hatton would be backing off and Pacman is landing the jab and then landing the left. Either way the left would be landing and Pacman winning. Hatton is a quality fighter, but Pacman is just a quick handed fighter.

how do we know that hatton did not follow the script handed to him by mayweather. Is it not possible that what hatton did was what mayweather was telling him to do? it's really possible. before the fight the hatton camp was bragging about his new learned defensive skill handed to him by mayweather. now, is it not also possible that they did it, the bragging, to mislead pq camp? everything is possible.

Dude ain't got the defensive skills to play safe without workin. He was better off at least tryin, and he did. He woulda got KO'd anyway, so I respect him for goin after it.

So he would have made it to round three, big deal. He knew he was ****ed and I give him credit for going out in a blaze of glory trying to land a big shot.

I hope they don't ever allow him in any big event fights again. Just another Gatti a British one, the moron promoters think can bring in lots of moolah money but he really is a con job who makes alot of joke money fooling the suckers out there and stealing good money from hard working people like DLH, another loser who lost every big fight and stole the money from people with his con jobs. He got what he deserved last night. Glad I didn't order the PPV. I wasn't one of those suckers.

I thought the same at the time, only to watch him come out and do the exact same bull**** come forward in a straight line style that got him into trouble in the first place. Roach was right the guy can't adapt.

In his corner did anyone else notice how Hatton was looking around all over the place not listening to anything being said to him. Guy was in total shock.

Pacquiao wouldn't even have allowed him to take a round off, he would just charge into him and shower him with punches he already proved in the first round he can't take.

I don't think he needed to take a round off, I think he needed to focus on making Pacquiao miss and hitting him flush, because running through him seemed like the worst thing he could possibly do. Now before anyone missinterpret what I said, let me just say that I know Hatton's not a defensive fighter. What I mean is that he had to start moving his head and faking on going in and trying to attack Pacquiao after he opened himself up. Easier said than done though, Pac's a beast.
