Says the Brit. Pacman is obviously better then Hatton so I guess he's not the "worst" head to head fighter of all-time now is he?
I think the reason for this is earlier in pacs career he was a bit too 1 dimensional and his recent improvement to an all round talented fighter has occured when he is fighting possibly above his natural weight class and the best of the best would hold physical advantages over him, however i agree some where underrating him, i was one of them. In this fight though, its still duran TKO late for me :yep
It is reassuring. Still, what I want to know is "who the **** are the nine classic posters who said Virgil Hill was better than Mike McCallum"? :huh :yep
I wonder if Pacquiao could beat a prime SRL at welter, go 15 rounds with Hagler, compile a 74-1 record at one stage in his career, or win the middleweight title at age 38? Cmon, Pacman is a great fighter but Duran is top 5 P4P of all time.
Pac's only problem now as to being an atg is the question of who he beat and when. He needs a real in or close to prime JW or Welter to beat. So the question can be put to rest. He may end up being in a gap of talent as far as that goes. Unless he moves to WW and fights that crew.
P4p what manny has achieved is remarkable,i do agree with posters who say we are in the midst of a legend and achievements which may never be bettered,i can even live with arguments comparing him to armstrong and hearns as an effective weight jumper...... BUT,never, never, never, never in a million years of evolution under freddie roach, michael moorer, eddie futch or angelo dundee would the pacman ever, ever, ever beat montreal 147 duran....... Shakes head and removes himself from post......
Duran stops him without a doubt. I don't think anyone can really say if it would be early or late on as we've not seen Pac's durabillity tested at these higher weights yet.
This is the problem with making non-public polls, people can vote for Pac over Duran by KO & not have to explain themselves. Duran by KO for me.
I pick Duran... but if this was one of those nights where the effects of poor training catch up to Roberto, I have no qualms about giving Pacquiao the nod, via mid-rounds ref stoppage.
