I think Wells would definitely have had more chance vs Stevenson due to his brawling style and raw power (something Teofilo often had trouble with) than Bobick did and perhaps he was unlucky not to make the team. However, it has to be said that that win made it 4-0 to Duane in the amateurs, so he seemed to have Nick's number somewhat.

 

i spoke with nick before about the fights w bobbick and i remember that he said he felt he truly only lost to bobbick once, when nick entered into intl comp in the cism games and the rds were longer, he just was too tired,against bobbick--- the other loss nick said that the ref was from the same town as bobbick and didnt like nick for some reason. nick said that he had fell down somewhere in the fight which was a balance knockdown. when he got up early in the count, nick told the ref he was ok, and the ref stopped the fight right then and there ,nick was not even hurt. nick protested but TO no avail he got ****ed.(THAT WAS JUST HOME COOKING I GUESS). the last time they met was the 72 trials in which nick had shattered bobbicks nose and had knocked bobbick down and was kicking bobbicks ass. but the cut above nicks eye was bleeding badly causing blood to flow into his left eye. bobbick did not cause the cut, it was a door at the team hotel that caused it, all bobbick had to do was breathe on the cut for it to reopen. nick had him beat cold, the ref stopped the fight while nick was on the stool going into the 3rd rd. robbed again,that is why holmes fought bobbick, it was a boxoff due to nicks injury, the olympic commiitee knew nick would have won, so they had abox off between holmes and bobbick to decide the 72 us hvywt olympic spot. i would have loved to see wells vs stevenson
