Freddie Roach says that Pacquiao is best at 140 but I'm wondering was Pacquiao struggling to make weight all these years? I predicted that DLH would beat up Pacquiao because of the size. Again not learning my previous mistake I predicted that Hatton and Pacquiao would be a competitive matchup becuase of Hatton's size. So was Pac struggling to make the early weights? And does Cotto vs. Pacquiao not look like a fantasy match anymore.
Now i think 140 suit him well... he still has his speed and seems to carry his power pretty well. He was drained against JMM (his last fight at 130) he was suppose to go up to 135 but since JMM's belt was at 130 he was force to stick around and fight him there. he was still jogging under the sun the whole week before the weigh in. check out his face during weigh in. dry as ****! true, i've been trying to answer the same question myself. can still make 135 but is the most comfortable at 140. 147 is truly a stretch, but the bigger fights and pac's gutts make it possible.
I think it's part of team pacquiao's plan... they don't want to gain more muscle to maintain his speed which is his number one asset.
His true weight class would be welterweight ... he takes off alot of weight between fights ... I read on time that he's as high as 150 during camp _ he spars alot of bigger guys ... I just think the fact that he's effective at 130-140 makes him look better because he's so explosive, but if he wanted to he could easily campaign at welterweight.
Pac has a good chin but doesn't take punches to the body well _ I never heard of that before with any fighter.
his true weight is wherever the money is at ... this guy is amazing ... i'm sure that he be a welterweight champion.
I just watched the 2 early fights where he got knocked out online, he looked 13 back then, and I think he was 18 or 19, he was just skinny, not much muscle definition.
All along I said 126-130lbs, because that's where the majority of his world title fights occurred. However, he looked ****ing amazing at 140, so I'd say his best weight would be 135-140. He weighed in at 138 for Hatton, so he could still comfortably make lw. He is a MONSTER at lw. Would absolutely blow away anyone fighting there now.
