He needs to fight Abraham. Or Pavlik.

Hold your horses, wasting his prime would be fighting Gevor.

He needs to fight Pavlik or Abraham.

Gevor is a very good opponent, defineatly a top10 middleweight.
Of course, I'd prefer Pavlik, Abe, Williams or even Wright but apart from those names there isn't any middleweight who's clearly better than Gevor.

    :good

Good matchmaking by UBP at last!
Plus Zbik vs Spada for the WBC no. 1 contender spot aka interim belt on the undercard, these two matches combined mark another important date in the middleweight picture of 2009 after Pavlik vs Mora & Abraham vs Lorenzo on June 27, and Geale vs Mundine on May 27.

Felix Sturm is an absolute joke, on the same sort of level as Anthony Mundine.

I dont class either of them as actual boxers anymore because of their irrelevance not only to their division, but boxing in general.

Sturm ducks a big offer from Abraham so he can take on a nobody and now one of Abrahams leftovers ?

He should be stipped of his title.

Sturm picked Pavlik to beat Abraham, and claimed he wants the winner. Pavlik said he would go to Germany to fight Sturm as long as the money is right, and HBO or Showtime goes with him. So, we shall see.

The hell are you talking about?Gevor is a good opponent.
Sure Sturm is too chicken to fight Pavlik or Abraham but guys like Sylvester and Gevor are good.

I didn't get the criticism either. Gevor is a legit top ten middleweight.

A while back someone on this forum claimed that Abraham's offer to Sturm was only made in the press and no offer ever went to Universum. Now Pavlik has stated Saurland isn't very serious in negotiations. I have NO idea where the truth lies here.

Abraham's leftovers? You're a smarter poster than that.

Pavlik/Miranda: why was Kelly fighting AA's lefter overs?

Abraham/Miranda II: why was AA fighting Pav's left overs?

Pavlik/Taylor II: why was KP fighting HIS OWN left overs?

Taylor/Froch: whay was Froch fighting Pavlik's left overs?

    Get it?

Gevor's only defeat at middleweight came as the IBF mandatory challenger against AA... a KO loss in which he gave a really spirited effort and never quit (as opposed to the next mandatory, Raul Marquez).

In the meantime he has bounced back, travelled to his opponent's backyard Helsinki and knocked out once beaten former European champ Amin Asikainen to win the European title... how could anyone call Gevor undeserving of another title shot??? :nono

Sturm is beginning to get balls after all.

First Sylvester, Top10 MW (Ring Mag. No 3)

and now Gavor, Top10 MW (Ring Mag. No. 4)

... if we are really honest thats better than the last opponents of either Abraham AND Pavlik ;)

Better than last, and probably better than the next opponents.
