I dont think Froch would have too many probs selling out the 02 against Hopkins. Frochs last two fights have been classics - you know you would good value out of him. And Hopkins would be a fairly big draw as hes reasonably well known in the UK by virtue of the Calzaghe fight. The only thing counting against filling up the 02 would be stupid ticket prices (eg Haye Barrett wher they had to offer two for ones at the end as they had hadnt sold well due to extortionate prices)
That and, as people found out after Haye v Maccarinelli, the place is a bloody nightmare to get away from at 2am which would presumably be the kind of time window a Froch v Hopkins fight would take place in.
pav was terrible against hopkins.... he was rumoured to be ill and jumping up in weight. Hopkins did beat joe though. He never even had a cut lip at the presser after.
I dont think this would be a good idea for froch I dont agree with those who say he gets no credit if he wins, because if he wins its likely in all reality gonna be from tiring b-hop out and KO'ing him. Knocking out bernard hopkins would be huge and Froch would be the man that finally put him away. I dont think itd be a good fight for froch because I think theres hardly any chance of that happening, itd be Hopkins Vs Pavlik again but worse.
I really can't see Froch winning this should it be made. Hopkins would out-box him in a similar fashion to what he did to Pavlik. However I do think that Froch would get the credit should he somehow pull it out of the bag. It would be a great win for him. Sadly can't see it happening. He would probably be better off going for Bute or Andrade. Bit more winnable.
Hopkins said“Froch is a tough fighter, can take a punch and he has balls. It would be a hell of a fight and he got recognition for the way he knocked Taylor out. He deserves it. What better commercial can you get than by fighting me? He introduced himself by beating Taylor and he can seal the deal by becoming a superstar if he fights me,” He REALLY fancies this one.....
