prime razor ruddock vs 42 yr old george foreman???

Ruddock was well past his best when he fought Morrison, and Morrison is one of the best punchers of the 90s himself. He had a great blend of power and speed. Ruddock had some under rated boxing skills himself, he had a nice jab and could fight from the outside although not for rounds at a time.

Watch Ruddock vs. Tyson, Tyson was at least 5x the puncher Foreman was and couldn't finish Ruddock off. The first fight was a premature stoppage and the second fight went the distance, Ruddock was VERY hard to KO and it took a sustained attack to try to keep him down. Foreman was only good one punch at a time at that stage and couldn't keep Ruddock down, I see Ruddock battering Foreman and winning by a wide UD or maybe even KO.

 

Unless Razzor landed a lucky smash I like George ... Foreman was a freak ... at 42 plus he took the best shots of Holyfield, Moorer, Morrison and Briggs ... truly amazing ...

 

He also was beat up and had controversial wins with the legendary Alex Stewart and Axel Schultz.

 

Unlike Bonecrusher Smith, Foreman was big, strong, durable AND active! Smith was 20 Lbs over his best weight, 36 years old, riding a losing streak, and hadn't beaten an opponent in nearly three years. Yet these things didn't stop him from decking Ruddock early, nearly ending the fight. Foreman's, power, chin, defense and overall fighting ability was superior to that of both Smith and Dokes at this point, and these were Ruddock's biggest scalps. Razor never had claim to beating an undefeated prime champion like Michael Moorer either ( another left hooker, BTW ). Let me clarify that I'm not claiming George would have beaten Ruddock in 1991, but let's just say that your using Gerry Cooney as a comparison, can be used in reverse.

 

I think it's arguable as to whether Foreman was a bigger hitter than Bonecrusher Smith was at the time that he fought Ruddock. Bonecrusher was obviously the faster of the two, and I suspect his punch was a little sharper. And the punch that Bonecrusher landed on Ruddock was a fast, completely out-of-nowhere shot that Foreman wouldn't be able to land. Foreman was a clubber,and his punches, besides being very slow, were more often than not telegraphed.

And Bonecrusher was not all that far removed from his championship days, either. Foreman hadn't fought a live body in what, ten years or more? At least with Bonecrusher, he had been fighting upper echelon opponents within a few years of his fight with Ruddock, so it wasn't like he was a total ghost in there.

Gerry Cooney's activity level prior to facing Foreman was a joke; and his personal life prior to his comeback- drug and alcohol abuse - didn't help him much when he decided to return to the ring. And he still managed to sting George.

 

David Jaco knocked out Razor Ruddock in his prime. Tommy Morrison iced Ruddock in his prime. Going the distance with Tyson only shows how overrated Tysons power is against somebody who isnt afraid of him. Foreman showed in his comeback who could be hit by huge punchers like Morrison and Briggs who probably hit alot harder than Rudduck. If Foreman took Rudduck as a threat and came in the fight in shape he would knock out Ruddock in 5 rounds or less.

If Foreman took Razor as a joke he would still beat Rudduck but probably by descion with them both being bloodied up.

 

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLEY! Thank you anthony! Prime Ruddock would have wasted George. Look what glass jaw morrison did to foreman won 11 out of 12 rounds, A washed up Carl Truth Williams twice knocked down Morrison and Foreman could not! C level Lou Savarese went toe to toe with foreman for 12 rounds and foreman could not put a single dent on lou's chin that tyson was able to do in 2 rounds. Alex Stewart and Axel Shulz both beat up foreman badly, but the judges gave foreman gifts. Stewart did not last one round vs Tyson. Foreman actually was stripped of his title because he was afraid to fight A way over the hill Tony Tucker in 1995, I bet Tucker even at that stage whips Foreman on the cards.


Ruddock was too fast, Too powerful, too skilled, too durable. Foreman at 42 could only throw one punch at a time occasionaly, so I don't expect this to trouble ruddock that much, especially after taking tysons combinations. Foreman was wide open and slow at this stage, Ruddock will land his stinging left hook repeatedly, and I doubt george takes it for 12 rounds.

 

He also went a combined 1-3 in those fights, and it should have been 0-4. How exactley is foreman going to beat ruddock? he certainly has no chance at outpointing the faster, younger, much more skilled, ruddock on the cards. Ruddock is too durable for foreman to knock out.

 

He did not knock him out. Ruddock was just a small 200lb embryo well ahead on points and had to quit on his stool because of an aysthma attack. Your an idiot if you dont know this. Ruddock was nowhere near his best.

Since When? Ruddock was coming off a 3 year layoff when he fought Morrison in his 30s....I would say that hardly qualified ruddock for Prime.

Ruddock in his prime not only was a better puncher and finisher than these two, he was a much better overall fighter. Morrisons left hook is not better than ruddocks. Btw a past his prime Ruddock did something Foreman could not do, Floor Morrison.

 

Foreman KOs Ruddock. Ruddock was very over rated. Foreman has the better beard and can punch with both hands. Also Foreman has a huge advantage mentally, no self- doubt, whereas Ruddock has lots of self-doubt.

Ruddock beats his ass black and blue...all he has to do is show up in good shape and punch...I figure George would be lumped up so bad that the fight doesnt get to round 8...Ruddock was a very good fighter that ran into a still motivated Tyson and thus was ruined by him...but a slow fighter like George would be in big trouble....
