I believe PBF is hurting himself by coming back on PPV vs. Marquez!

I think he should have considered making a mil or 2 less and fought on regular HBO.

    WHY?

Well, when it comes down to negotiations for a PacMan fight. Pac will go into negotiations with a PPV which did over 1.6 Mill PPV buys in the US while the PBF vs. Marquez PPV will do no more than 450,000 PPV if that.

PBF will not agree to Pacman getting the bigger share, and we might just get Cotto vs. Pacman at catch weight.

Cotto vs Pacman would be a better fight anyway.

There's been no official numbers on that Pac/Hatton fight. If it does indeed do around 1.6 mill, then a 50/50 split betweeen Mayweather and Pac would be appropriate. Remember, Floyd's fights with Hoya and Hatton did 2.4 mill and 850k respectively. Meanwhile, Pac's fights with Hoya and Hatton would do 1.6 mill in both fights. So both of them would have pulled in about the same amount of buys in two fights against the same two guys. Pac's second fight with Marquez did about 500k buys. If Mayweather vs. Marquez did over 400k buys, then they should definately agree on a 50/50 split. You would have the former p4p king against the current p4p king, with both having racked up similar ppv numbers against the same guys.

This makes perfect sense. There's no way in hell that a former p4p king would come out of retirement and face the current p4p king in what would be the biggest fight in boxing, and would make him $20+ mill. This is clearly a crazy idea that no reasonable person to explore. We all know that a guy who calls himself "money" and who constantly flaunts his wealth would never consider such a huge money fight.

Ahh that Mayweather, always making money off the mexicans, beating up their fighters and wearing sumbreros as he does it.

this is not a diss, just trying to analyze as i've been wondering too how much their fight will bring.

pac diaz was 200k, purely from pacs fanbase pre DLH fight.

pac jmm did 450k. but the difference was not purely on jmm as the combination was intriguing. lets say jmm brought equally 200k mexs, with the rest 50k brought in by true boxing fans and some stray dogs and cats.

so if jmm brings 200k, another 50k for boxing fans, will floyd be able to pull in the remaining 200k?

is that a big number or small number for floyd? remember floyd is counting on the mex fans already as part of his base, so there is an overlap.

Floyd doesn't fight Fighters in their Prime - now that's a very dumb statement.

I guess Manfredo, Corrales, and many other's he beat on the way up weren't in their prime. Remember - Corrales at the time was feared and undefeated - with heavy hands - and we see what happened there.

This fight has to happen - due to the public demand. However - I see this fight as a mismatch for Floyd. Manny's aggression would be his downfall.

So, I agree with JLH - the Cotto vs. PacMan fight would be more exciting - cause there would be some nice exchanges - until Cotto puts Pac to sleep. At least this one wouldn't be as one-sided as Floyd countering PacMan all night.
