i find it amazing that folk can slag ricky hatton off the way they are,he currently is the only british boxer capable of performing at that level, which of coarse is the elite,he's been a brilliant ambassador for british boxing and one defeat against a magnificent boxer and people turn.SHAME ON YOU! I i hope he as 1 or 2 more fights in front of his manchester fans, that would be a fitting end to a great career.

Certainly some are being a little harsh with certain comments but anyone who feels the way I do about it will be glad of the result. The only real dissapointment for me was that it didn't last a few more rounds after staying up untill that time of night to watch it.
It would have been absolutely awful if Hatton had somehow won - all the British press and clueless fans would have been proclaiming how he is regarded as the best P4P fighter as if that accolade was something that could have been transfered with the result like a belt.
I actually like Hatton - but just not as a boxer. Since a young lad when Sibbo was my hero boxing has been the only sport I've really followed but I can honestly say that I've never enjoyed watching Hatton fight - just horrible.

Might be a bad result for many delusional Hatton fans (but then they have football to fall back on) but certainly the right result for anyone who is a fan of 'boxing'.

get a grip mate, hatton has fought in a much higher lebvel and only been beat by the two best boxers on the planet,no disgrace whatsoever, froch is very good but by beating (and only just) a middle weight in taylor can hardly elevate him to the level hatton has boxed at.

No he isn't. Thats why he loses every time he steps up to 'that level'.

At world level he is capable, just not against the No 1# p4p boxers.

Which is terrible aint it he must be really rubbish to get beat by Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jnr...

All those fighters Ricky's beaten over the years have just been journeymen, every single one.

Not really. Seeing as you know Eddie, Doyley, Stuey and myself and you know we are all proper boxing fans and we all supported Hatton....

I never been a fan of Hatton and never will. He was a solid world champion that's about it for me fair play he tried to step up but fell short on both occasions but i think there people like me that haven't fell for the hype and knew his vulnerabilities and that once at elite level he be exposed and i think some like myself have grown to dislike Hatton more because of what in my opinion is over hyping and also a man i just can't watch for more then a sentence without muting him.

There are some who have just jumped on bandwagon and decided to take the mick and make some sick remarks but i always say you put your self in the firing line then expect to be shot at but i will say some do take the opinions a little to far.

:goodWell said Billy. It is disgraceful that one of our alltime best,a man who 20,000 people will travel thousands of miles to support,a globally recognised peronality with bollocks the size of rugby balls and someone this nation can actually be proud of, can be slagged off in this way.
I feel some people who are lets say less sportingly gifted than others, choose boxing as 'their' sport because its more of a minority sport and maybe they feel puts them on another level to your regular sports fan and footy fan maybe, and makes them feel important in the pub. Then when a fighter becomes really popular and people start talking about 'their' sport in the pub they dont like it. So they slag the fighter off.
Sorry about the rant:lol:But its got to be the only explanation.

Why the **** do people keep going on about p4p hype? Seriously some man made contruct to magically make out that a fighter is pound for pound better than anyone else is pure horse****.

Boxing has created so many bloody titles, and bollock divisions.

Layman terms to how they should be-

    Featherweight- Below 130-
    Lighweight - 130 to 145-
    Weltweight- 145 to 160-
    Middlweight 160 to 180-
    Light heavyweight 180 to 210
    heavyweight - 210 plus

Imagine C. Byrd watching all these guy calling themselves 13 time weight champions when in fact they have have only gone up 10 pounds or so.

By this route we could make a 200, 208, 215, 230, 240+ division for the big men.......such bollocks it really is

No thats bollocks mate. How can you have someone at 130 giving away 15 pounds to a fighter for the lightweight title.

Ricky Hatton disgraced himself and British boxing Saturday night. I cant believe he had me fooled into thinking he was going to win. I genuinely thought that.

Dont give him all this oh he fought the best and came up short nonsense. I would have gone to Vegas to fight Pac myself if I was getting paid 5% of what Hatton got that night.

    Ricky Hatton needs to retire.
