"I am absolutely devastated. My head is in bits. I didn't think i could cry anymore after the Floyd Mayweather Jr loss, but i certainly have. Pacquiao knocked me down from practically the first punch he threw and i never recovered."

"Maybe my attitude was wrong because i always wear my heart on my sleeve and i was straight in there. Maybe if i had gone a few rounds i could have won, but there was nothing i could do about it. I have felt worse after hard 12 round fights, because it was over that quickly and physically i have never felt better."

    -Ricky Hatton, May 2009

Rickys mother mentioned Hatton wants a farewell fight in England.

A rematch with Zuri Malignaggi would make for a safe one. Don't want his head to go to even smaller bits.

The look on his face at the end of round 1 testifies to this indeed.

Well there it is as I mentioned it many times. The first punch he took in the 1st round was clear he just can't take it and if anyone expected to come out fighting like Ray Robinson because of Mayweather Sr. then those people are newbies anyway.

Pacquiao's power was just too much for him to handle.

His reaction after the first solid punch he took and was hurt from testifies to this, then the knockdowns in the 1st and KO in the 2nd.

I have to disagree here. Hatton's chin has gone.

David Diaz took about 200 Pacquiao shots before falling and Lazcano wobbled Hatton. Even De La Hoya ate about 200 shots before retiring.

The Hatton that fought Zoo ate much bigger, just as well placed straight right hands all night long.

Hatton actually walked right threw Pac's 1st landed right right hook and showed no ill effects. It was maybe the 6th or 7th right hook landed while they were against the ropes when Hatton had to hold on.

His power at 135 didn't stop Diaz quickly, but Hatton falls at nearly every punch at 140.

Pac can't knock Diaz out but sparks Hatton, it doesn't make sense. After the lazcano, evidence, i think there is at least an argument to question Hatons chin at the age of 30.

Have to disagree Guru though glad to see you around.

I would say that Pac's power is just too much at the weight than Hatton losing his chin. Hatton might have been slightly hurt against Lazcano but he was also tired late in that fight and recovering from a recent loss. He then showed up against Malignaggi and performed really well despite Malignaggi's poor effort.

It might not make sense to you but to me it does. You have to also think that by moving up in weight Pac's power increased.

its the ones you dont see- it s not pacs power- but his speed that knocks people out- when u dont see them- u cant brace- and although zoo hit ricky harder- ricky saw them coming. ricky didnt see pacs punches all night- its like cold cocking a sucker blindsided with a cheap shot- ur guaranteed to knock them out.

Agreed. I think those first three or so right hooks Manny landed over his jab put him off and when he bum rushed his way into that solid left that had him hanging on - the plan went out the window.

Yet another prediction from Soothsayer Freddie.

Believe it or not but Pac's power has increased since his fight with Diaz. Roach said it himself that Pac has settled into the weight and has really developed devastating power. It should also be noted that Diaz has much better defense than does Hatton who seemingly was trying to beat up Pac's gloves with his chin.

The ref was clearly allowing to let Hatton get away with stuff in this fight. He hit and held a few times - for as long as the fight lasted - it made zero difference.
