pq has more offense than fmj. pq has more speed than fmj. you may disagree but ask hatton and david diaz. according to them they did not see the blows that knocked them out. now, can you name any of fmj oponents who made the same claim. as to power what happened to hatton speaks for itself.
And pac is a southpaw who learnt SO much from his first fight with Morales. Pac is not on the same level as Hatton - Obviously, a tired DLH, a slow as molases Baldomir, a front running Zab, or the flotsam and jetsam he fought at 140 - Of which one, a southpaw, visibly shook Floyd. Morales style and Floyd's are day and night. Morales comes forward on angles behind his jab, Floyd likes to matador and offset rushing fighters with his - Its a great punch and a key one no doubt - Floyd certainly doesn't have the stylisitc flaw that Hatton has, so Manny wont be ducking Floyds jab and landing right hooks on an unmoving head. What I think is interesting is if he tries to lure Manny into the ropes like he did with the highlight reel success in the DLH fight - He will get pummelled against the ropes. In this respect I can kind of see where Arum and Roach are coming from, Floyd is a safety first defensive stylist that will just constantly move and it will take a lot for Manny to touch him significantly and I think that is the more likley scenario - A highly mobile Floyd that wears down, tries to discourage onrushing Manny and put on a boxing clinic. I just can't see Floyd coming out agressive and risking getting caught early. Just like what happened in the Judah fight from the fast right hook.
He'll look like a fish out of water with Floyd regardless of his improvements in footwork. He jumps in and jumps out just as always, the difference being when he's in range he throws a bigger variety of punches. The only punch that has shown significant damage besides the left in the improved pac is the right hook which was absent during his first 40 fights. He doesnt throw the right hook to the body much at all and uppercuts on the inside are meaningless unless he gets through Floyd's volley of jabs and straight right hands. And Floyd was the more physical fighter on the inside when he fought Hatton but tied up appropriately. He will do the same thing with Pacquiao. That leaves the right hook, which I can guarantee you Floyd will not walk into about 15 times a round like Hatton did. He's going to struggle to get insdie against Floyd because Floyd is every bit as quick on his feet and has the most underrated jab in the business.
Dude - Go back and watch Morales Pac II. Or watch the killer right hook to the body he landed on Hatton about 10 seconds before the end of the fight. Pac is punching on instruction to set up shots based on his gameplan.
Morales after the first Pacquiao fight means nothing to me. He was long gone. And landing some body shots against fighters who are barely surviving doesnt impress me either. I'm talking about fighters who are not half unconscious.
But, if you keep throwing the jab out, you are asking for a bruising, because of Pac's new and improved right hook. PBf will have to be really accurate and quick with that jab, if he doesn't want to get hit with the right hook of Pac's. The right hook of Pacquiao is changing the very landscape of boxing before our very eyes.
