Loved watchin Nigel Benn when I was younger but it was Erik 'El Terrible' Morales who really sealed the deal for me. Would have loved to have been around when Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran were carving out their legends.
I made the mistake of saying Duran sucked to my dad and he made me watch all his big fights before Duran Leonard III Since then I always watch most of a boxers fights before saying anything.
Hopkins, first big fight i saw was Hopkins vs Tito. Only really watched it for the 9/11 tributes. Of course before then Tyson always intrigued me, but my Dad would not let me buy PPV for Tyson since it would probably only last a round. was hooked on boxing since then, & always had a soft spot for Hopkins.
My Dad's a massive boxing fan so he got me into it from a young age. Tyson was the first person I remember watching and thinking it was unreal. Also Paul Hodkinson was a world champion from my city when I was 9 or 10 years old so that really upped my interest too! Probably those two are the ones that got me into the sport.
Ray Leonard Tito and Erik Morales kept me hooked in the 90's -early 2000' Manny Pacquaio REALLY embodies ALL thats good in the sport today.Legendary guy
Nigel Benn, Robin Reid, Prince Naseem (although at the time I loved to hate him), Ryan Rhodes, Frank Bruno.
Pac, I always had a passing interest on the British scene but Pac was the fighter who got me into worldwide boxing.
