if you want to loose weight for a fight its the best way. i didn't say it was a good way to loose weight. when i walk around i am 230lb, when i fight i am 205, i am 225lb about a week 10 days before i fight, it's an instant advantage over the guy your fighting.

Here is a picture to prove it, in the weigh in i was 205 lb on the day I was 230, the guy on the bottom was 203, it's important to keep size and just loose water for a weigh in.

But if you want to loose weight over a long period of time i have no idea what to do.

He needs to lose fat not water. Also amateur boxing weigh ins are just before a fight, I don't think it's wise to fight completely dehydrated. Completely starving kills your metabolism so it's useless no matter what you're doing, losing fat or dehydrating.

    -No bread (easy)
-Yes, I eat fruit (I didn't include it because it's a given in my mind)
-I like white tea so I'll switch over from soda
-Need to start adding in more runs

    Thanks for the advice everyone

That's obvious. Which, by the way, was what the OP was asking. Yet you still chimed in with terrible advice. :-(

He said he was loosing weight for a fight, and my advice is good advice.

don't listen to these jokers, if you want to loose weight for a fight you can loose a lot 2 days before the fight just don't eat and walk on a treadmill with a sweat suite if you have a weigh in in the morning, you can put it all on by the afternoon.

So you know, Green Tea helps in boosting your metabolism.

But you still get drained from it even if the weight is back on by the afternoon. It is never safe to cut that much weight like that. Much better to fight natural weight, natural being whatever you don't have to cut more than 5 pounds of water weight in three days for. Anything more than 5 pounds is IMO unsafe.

And five pounds is really pushing it.

It depends on how big you are, not eating the night before a fight and walking on a treadmill for 1 hour in Sauna suite is not very hard, but you can loose 10lb

You won't lose 10 pounds in one hour, even if it's water weight.
