LOL at these Bute fans trying to make excuses for him..

"Spina? Well, if that's the only guy who's not afraid to fight Bute. Then so be it." :blood

Are you Bute fans really trying to tell us that every damn fighter at 168 is ducking Bute, and Bute has to settle on Spina because he's all that's out there? :patsch :rofl

Are you kidding me? Joey Spina is a ****in embarassment. Hell, even Joppy was a more worthwhile defense. At least Joppy was a contender at one point. Spina is a never-was that got KO'd by Peter ****in Manfredo.

This better be a bull**** internet rumor.. because this would be the biggest crock of **** title defense since... forever.. what an absolute joke..

PS: I agree Spina is a pathetic opponent for Bute.

Bute could be going into Duddy mode after Duddy peaked vs Yory Boy and got a dubious win. 168 has a ton of tough fighters in it. Maybe there are going to try and tip toe the minefield all the way to a Pavlik fight at 168 for Pav's move up around 2010.

This is my worst case scenario.

I hope I am completely wrong and that all thirty or fourty fighters that would have been a better option than Spina where either scheduled for a fight or frightened out of their minds.

Hello, Mr Direll? Its Bute here? Why don't you bring it on over here to Canada and I will kick your ass for you?

Oh no! You mean like you crushed Andrade in the 12th? :yikes:yikes:yikes:yikes Leave me along you big bad Bute brute!!

    ******

Just messing with you Bute fans. But you got to admit Spina is quite the pukeable choice.

I was the first to admit...And i'm a big Bute fan...But the problem is that almost all of the other big players have their own fights already lined up...

Then there is no point in fighting Spina.

Bute could be fighting a better fighter from Europe. Like Stieglitz for example. I know he has a fight lined up so he's probably not available but it's just an example of a much better opponent that would still be a safe title defense for Bute.

It's a Vs./Espn quality fight. So, in a word, no.

It's a **** fight but I would more rather he was in a fight like this then not in any which it was beggining to look like. If he wins this fight comfortably like he should then he can give Andrade his rematch and then go after a unification bout sometime early next year.

Is this seriously going to happen?

Its good Bute stays bust instead of waiting around.

But no way can he fight Spina.

Joppy was bad but Spina might just be worse.

There is wayyyyy too many good fighters at 168 and a few at 160.

Bute does not need to fight someone on the level of Joey Spina anymore.

The hypocrisy of BoxingTalk is unbelievable. Not to mention they either need an editor or a writer that knows what he's doing. Not only is this sentence bull**** (Andrade not available/Green not interested), it's not even a sentence:

"Bute's other options were a rematch with the rugged Librado Andrade and a title defense against hard hitting Allan Green would have been, far more atttractive fights that might have garnered American television."

I'm sure they'll change the grammar eventually, but that's disgraceful from all angles. (And yes, they put 3 t's in "attractive".) And no mention of a conflict of interest, I suppose, eh? Garbage.

[Yes, bull**** defense though. Could have done better.]
