Hatton was elite before Pacan KO'd him. I mean how can p4p top 10 not be ****ing elite? That KO changed everything, simple as. Boxing changes very rapidly and Hatton simply went from elite (top 10 p4p) to not elite (outside top 10) This is the sole reason why this is a top win for Pacman.
Maybe? I have made a few posts claiming my ignorance of the word 'elite'. You can check...you seem to have the time, inclination and lack of life! I have asked the question but still have yet to get an answer. It obviously means different things to different people. If 'elite' is being top of your division for several years, then yes, Hatton was 'elite'. If it is a term applied to genuinely, exceptionally talented boxers who come along once every ten or twenty years (FMJ, SRL,RJJ,etc,), then it obvious that Hatton was never 'elite'. Anyway, is 'elite' a term that is applied to a boxer forever or just the duration of this 'elite' period? Was Hatton elite before Pac destroyed him?? Maybe? I hate to break this to you but a lot of people press the buttons in those polls just to try and **** the percentages up and upset the thread starter who has usually tried to wind up/ troll a section of the forum with a loaded question.
He's not a fraud at all. The man was the best fighter at 140 since taking out Tszyu, KO'd Castillo with one of the most beautiful body shots I've ever seen in boxing, and lost to Mayweather in 10 in a very good fight. After Mayweather, his chin was gone though, and he's suffered accordingly. He's no fraud- he's just been through too many wars at this point. Some fighters don't age well... BHop is kicking ass at 43 while Castillo is losing fights at Carnivals in Iowa at age 35. The type of fighter you are is going to have something to do with how you fight later in life.
The forum has a search function, lets see a link to these many nuthuggers making the claim...? I've never seen a fan claim that Hatton is an ATG on ESB. I've seen haters claim that his fans think he's an ATG but thats totally different.... Hatton was mainly getting the hype because of how popular he is, not because people thought he was an ATG.
It seems like some people here have had their feelings hurt over Hatton being labeled a fraud. Many people on this board believed that Hatton was an elite fighter(Phila's poll proves this), clearly he is not. I'll tell you what, I'll just refer to him as someone who deceived people into believing he was something that he never was.
