Cameron Dunkin, Kelly Pavlik's manager has told Mick Hennessy that his fighter would relish to fight 'The Cobra' following his KO win over Jermain Taylor the other weekend.

    Pavlik

"Let's make the fight!" he said "Kelly really wants it. He's just like Carl - prepared to fight anyone. Let Carl know that he wants the fight." said Dunkin.

However Top Rank president Todd DeBoef was not as keen as Dunkin on making the fight with the big punching Super Middlweight.

"We're interested in Froch..but Kelly twice went to 168lb and it didn't work out for him."

Bernard Hopkins has also insisted that any fight involving himself would need a $5m purse for his services, whilst a tremendous boxer, his marketability may make the fight simply uneconomical.

With Froch recently taking the thin end of a small purse for his high risk fight with Taylor, it would be unfair for the Nottingham fighter to earn a fraction of the takings again in another high risk fight against a cagey operator like the executioner.

A Pavlik fight would be more viable and Mick Hennessy confirmed that a Pavlik showdown would be excellent, but wants it to be know that they have made a play for a unification fight with current IBF champion, Lucian Bute.

"We would love it (Pavlik fight) but the fight we've moved on is a unification fight with Lucian Bute." said Hennessy.

"And we're waiting to hear back from them."

Over to you Team Bute it now seems.

Finally we agree on something. We want a Froch-Bute fight. Does someone knows when Froch will be ok to fight again?

The real question here is why is Mick Hennessy trying to get a fight with a reluctant Lucian Bute, when Bernard Hopkins is calling him out on ESPN? Does Carl not fancy his chances against Hopkins?

let Allan Green fight Lucian Bute, Froch should make the hopkins fight happen. Even though Hopkins is a far better fighter, he is now elderly, and sooner or later it's going to show.

It's not only the marks, it's more the knock down, even if he wasn't badly hurt. Hope he's ready soon.

Why would Bute be reluctant? Last news I heard, Bute wanted big fights. He's targetting Kessler in the early 2010, has a rematch against Andrade this fall. If Froch is ready soon, why not?

Bernard apparently wants $5 million dollars to fight anyone.

    never gonna happen.

No way froch takes another tiny purse to accomadate another yank.

Maybe we can see Larouche saying last week that Bute would win easily against Froch as promo stuff?

I wouldn't call $700,000 USD a tiny purse considering Taylor was his first legitimate top10 opponent.

Obviously, Froch would be stupid to take less then 7 figures for a fight with Hopkins. That's a whole different ball game.
