Antonio Tarver Vs. Chad Dawson II Round By Round

Inside war to start round 3. Chad Dawson lands a little uppercut on the inside as Tarver holds and hits to the body. Tarver is trying for either a straight right or a left hook but neither one is working. Dawson lands a smooth 1-2 and then decides that he's done enough for a few seconds. Tarver retreating, Dawson following as both fighters aren't looking very interested in fighting. Dawson covers up and Tarver throws a combination that doesn't register anything. Props for the shaky hand uppercut thoug. Dawson has Tarver on the ropes now as he's measuring Tarver for something. Let's him go off the ropes as Tarver is trying to let his hands go. Tarver throws more shaky hand uppercuts as Dawson earmuffs. It's like they switched spirits for this round. Clinching and inside fighting ends the 3rd round.

Just for the sake of the shaky hand uppercut, Tarver round.

Round 3 for Tarver. FOught more physical, got in some good flurries, even if they didnt land much.

 

That last sequence was just sad...

 

His conditioning is fine he is just lazy.

 

Disappointing round from Dawson. Tarver certainly worked more, but it was ineffective. I give it to Tarver sheerly on activity. Dawson needs to pick it up; unacceptable for a borderline Top 10 P4Per.

Missed the 2nd round but caught the 3rd

Tarver just more active in this round, nothing major landed but outworked Dawson who was on the defensive and just waiting.

Round 3 Tarver

 

Damn, Dawson is throwing some hellacious 3 and 4 punch combos. Throwing wide, but he is busting Tarvers guard every time, pushing him backwards.

Anyone else think Tarver already looks a bit tired? Not so much stamina, but rather "this is gonna be a long night" sort of look on his face

 

Dawson a little upset in round 4 as he comes out with some **** and vinegar. Dawson misses with a wide uppercut. Dawson misses with a right hook. Dawson seems completely disintered in fighting right now. Both guys seem like they just pick and choose when to take turns throwing punches. Chad pops a nice jab on Tarver and then counters with a good hook. Tarver HURT by a hard left hand and is in the corner now trying to gather himself a bit. Dawson makes Paulie Malignaggi look like a killer when he's got somebody hurt. Tarver is trying to do stuff though and IT LOOKS LIKE BOTH FIGHTERS might consider fighting this round. Round ends with some good stuff.
