Why was HBO trying to promote a rematch between Dawson and Johnson ... like thats the fight that he would have to win to face Joe Calzaghe or lure him out of retirement.

Hazzlit re-uses Bastiat's broken window fallacy in his "one lesson". Anyway, kinda off topic here... Guess I might run into you on the mises.org blog.
    Goodnight!

Because if the choice is between hyping up Glen Johnson as an opponent or Hugo ****ing Garay, ya know who they're lookin at

Nope. Kessler said he will gladly fight Dawson at 168, but that they would not move up to fight Dawson.

But I think this guy is ready for Calzaghe ... he's shown that he's a good enough boxer and fans know who this guy is.

They want to match him up against another known fighter so that Dawson vs Calzaghe will be on PPV.

In all seriousness Dawson needs to take a public speaking class or a sports communication class, it'll eliminate a lot of the unnecessary "Uhs" and "You knows". I've taken classes like this and it's helped me out.

Dawson looked good at times but inconsistent at others. Dawson is going to keep wining low profile fights until he somehow gets his big shot.

wasnt chad strongly considering a move down to 168?
might not be a bad idea considering hopkins wont
fight him, and the other contenders are relatively
unkown, or old cagey vets who will make him look
bad. if he were every srongly thinking about it, right
    now is the time.

Calzaghe shouldn't unretire for this guy. Dawson adds nothing to Joe's legacy.

They alright have put Dawson on the map, he's undefeated, and he's good ... so he's going to be a featured fighter ... the ideal fight is between Dawson vs Calzaghe ... thats a PPV fight in the eyes of HBO ... but its a process in getting Dawson known to the casual fans. They won't make the same mistake they made with Jermain Taylor _

So yeah in other words, they won't fight Dawson.

If Hopkins beats Johnson convincingly then he would be marketable enough to fight against Hopkins or Calzaghe.

I doubt Hopkins would fight him, but if it makes enough sense $$ for Calzaghe then i'm sure he'll fight.

    Forget it.

Calzaghe is no hollywood/WWF clown. When he retires, he stays retired. Also he is not dumb enough to spend all his money all at once so that he has to comeback. Thirdly, he has other skills he can rely on after boxing.

Forget Calzaghe - he is retired (not Floyd style, but for real).

 Calzaghe would need to bring a shovel into the ring to hurt a LHW. Twenty-four rounds with a 43-year old and a 40-year old and he got dropped twice. Neither 40 year old went down. Have you ever looked at Joe's TKO/KO record?
It is far, far beyond unimpressive.

Think it's because there aren't enough names in the division for Dawson.
