Dawson may tire, but not like Taylor, who gets completely wasted after 8 rounds. Plus, Dawson is a big , strong LHW, with much, much better defensive skills than Taylor. He'd annihilate Froch. It would be a massacre at 175.

He is an emerging superstar, and he's undefeated, how are you wrong? Sure he has his flaws but he fixed a lot of them that he showed against Glen Johnson, in a rematch I'm sure Dawson would win.

Taylor has a better resume than Dawson. If we ever see Dawson in the ring with better caliber opposition chances are we will see him giving away fights as does Taylor.

You think Taylor would last against Tomasz Adamek, Glen Johnson, or even the Antonio Tarver that showed up today?

Taylor DOES not have a better resume than Dawson, their both equal if you want count Taylor's two wins against Hopkins. But Dawson is just the better fighter.

Point we are making, Dawson has is skilled with athletic gifts, BUT

NO Motivation/Drive/Fire/Hunger/Focus/whatever you want to call it.

I just dont see it. He fights like he is bored, does enough to win the rounds, coasts a bit, admires his work, catches some punches on the gloves, goes back to fighting.

That is not an ATG, and thats not the best of the decade, thats not even a fighter that is going to keep his belt. He is gonna run into someone that is going to want/crave/burn for the victory, and he is going to lose a contest of wills, because they wanted it that much more.

He fought like he was bored because he was fighting Tarver again, of course he had to be motivated enough to win the fight in which he did. Believe me Dawson has the motivation/Drive/Fire/Hunger/Focus he wouldn't be champion if he wasn't.

What both men have in common is that neither pushes themselves after the 7th or 8th round. They both look fantastic early, often showing a true class difference between them and their opponent, and then just hit a wall.

Taylor's wall seems to be physical (stamina), while Dawson's looks like its mental (complacency). Taylor is sucking wind near the end of his fights, while Dawson seems to have plenty of gas in the tank but either feels like he's done enough by showing his dominance early, or has become frustrated at that superiority not being enough to get the other guy out of there.

Do you know hard it must of been for Dawson to get motivated for this fight? Okay he didn't look all that spectacular, but he won convincingly against a better Tarver. Tarver clearly fought better than the last time, so that had something do with it.

You saying it must've been hard for Dawson to get motivated for a fight only supports the theory that he is similar to Taylor...

Even though Dawson won the fight, he did not impress many people and this is not good for his career. He was on HBO and needed a big time performance to have a chance at getting a big fight. This should have been enough to push him regardless of his opponent but something just does not click with him.
