    hes a pretty good fighter

i liked him he had a good style and was strong and quick. He gave Monzon alot of trouble in the second fight and only lost by a few points and it was real close. He got beat fairly wide by Napoles. Thats all i saw plus a fight with Heilamn that he dominates pretty much. I have afew more fights of him that i will watch soon.

he killed Paret in the ring after he was getting taunted he was gay (which he was)

he had a hell of a physique on him.wide shoulders and a 26" waist.
    he had his last fight (112 i think)against alan minter,future middle-weight champ,and ducked nobody.

as suzie q says ,they were mostly when he was past his best.
sugar ray robinson lost 18 or so when he was past it ,but it doesn't detract from a great career

I think he'd beat most welterweights. Say... All but three of them. On his best night.

    Name them.

And Gpater, he was far more than just a "pretty good fighter".
