Pac just clearly outclassed Hatton from the beginning of the fight. They are no where near the same level. Hatton was over rated by those calling him elite. That is why they have fights, to sort this stuff out. I was wrong about Hatton myself. Pac showed he is not elite. Just a decent fighter with a huge following.

Given the reasoning here, I suppose I could elevate him. If Hatton is 'still' considered elite Palvik did better against Bhop on an off night than Hatton did on a good night. Personally I think Bhop is getting a boost over beating someone that wasn't 100% and is ranked too high because of that.

Credit for what? Getting his face smashed in by Cotto?

He is a good fighter, a top ten at his weight kind of guy. I'll give him credit for that.

Paulie made me a fan when he fought his guts out against Cotto at 140. If he had some power, he might have won.

For starters his "win" over Collazo was very dubious and many thought Collazo was robbed.

Tszyu was 35, semi retired, 5 years past his best and had only one previous fight in 3 years. He failed to make the weight for the Hatton fight and was there for the final payday. You talk about Tszyu as if he was in his prime when he fought Hatton.

Its a bit like saying Danny Williams is a great heavyweight because he knocked out Mike Tyson.

I guess he's is (or was sponserd by Everlast) but I never understood why he didn't use Winning Gloves to protect his hands more.

Im loath to give him any kind of credit because of the smack he had talked before fights. I know the delusional ones will come out and excuse him and make lame ass excuses saying he was selling the fight etc. Bull**** Paulie thought Cotto was no more than a one dimmensional plodder, and he thought even less of Hatton, but he got beat up by both of them. The Hatton fight was worse because he came into the ring without his heart, and Pac proved recently that an over the hill version of Hatton beat Malignaggi.

**if Hatton isn't considered Elite going into the Pac fight then what was he?

fair or not, going into the Pac-man bout Hatton had 2 solid wins

    1. over a ring rusty Lazcano
    2. over a top fighter in his division

and that bumped him back into the top 10 pound for pound.

**if Hatton wasn't Elite, what class would you rank him then?

**and I agree that Pound For Pound CAN be a crap shoot sometimes ..especially with the bottom half.

I consider Pavlik a B + fighter because he's only lost once (to an ATG), beat the man who beat the man and has a solid skill set.

I consider Hatton a B + fighter because he has two losses (both to an ATG), a solid resume, a win over an ATG and is a very very good fighter with a solid skill set.

The only reason he's a top 10 or fringe Top 10 contender is because the P4P ranking is a)subjective and b)really weak these days
