Joe Calzaghe's performance against Hopkins = one of the worst performances in boxing.

Without a doubt one of the worst performances I've seen from a boxer. Hopkins didn't look fantastic either, but Calzaghe just looked horrible.. he won the fight out of sheer activity, and mostly Hopkins lack of activity. He had no idea how to deal with all those Ruiz-antics other than slapping and cuffing the entire fight. This was also the worst version of Hopkins thus far.

Any other top level fighter would've dealt with that version of Hopkins more impressively than Calzaghe did.

Sure it is, but Calzaghe took it to another level.. if Hopkins was a little more active I'd be hard pressed to see how Calzaghe could've even been awarded the fight.. how do you win a fight by just cuffing the entire fight?

Calzaghe looked bad because Hopkins kept planting that right hand in his face all night.

Like I said.. Hopkins didn't even look good himself, which is why it makes it all the worse for Calzaghe. This was the worst version of Hopkins by far.. and people thought he looked bad against Winky.

Both are hard to look good against, both use spoiling tactics, poor fight but Calzaghe won.

That's because of Calzaghe's style, Winky has a style which is hard to look good against, same with Calzaghe.

Who are the other top level fighters who would've dealt with Hop better than Cal? Any other...lol:lol:. There isn't a fighter on this planet who would look good against Hopkins, and now it is too late to look good against him because he is considered old. If Roy Jones couldn't look good against him, why berate Calzaghe's performance? You sound like a phony Cal hater who doesn't even know how to hate on a fighter. Your inexperience is showng. Name a fighter who would look good against that version of Hop lol...

Also it was his first fight at lhw.
You saw what happened to roy when joe had another 7 months at lhw.
He was more settled into the weight then.
He would dominate hopkins now he has settled in the weight.

You might want to actually wait for me to actually reply before assuming I can't name anyone. Kessler, Dawson, and probably even Glen Johnson would've beaten that version of Hopkins more impressively. Although it shouldn't be that hard for a top class fighter to look better than Calzaghe did anyway.. all's anyone would have to do was throw actual punches.

You're comparing the Hopkins that Jones fought and the Hopkins that Calzaghe fought as a means to show me up? You have no business talking about inexperience. :good

I'm a JC fan but I don't think he would dominate b-hop in a rematch but he might put on a better show.

Probably be a split decision in favor of JC

Thing is b-hop deserves a rematch due to the fact many thought he won. Even I was listening to BBc radio five live (didnt have tv access) and I thought JC had lost because even the commentators thought that-or that it was too close to call.

I think JC worries about his 0 losses so much he can't rematch someone who could pull off a win with a spilt decision like b-hop by ruining your fighting style

That version of Hopkins beat Pavlik easily. Against Calzaghe Hops was reduced to holding & faking low blows to buy some breathing time. Joe outworked & outhustled the toothless one, get over it.

Calzaghe was able to counter whatever Hopkins was planning in that fight with activity, Calzaghe showed that he's able to adapt there even though he looked to be losing early and confirmed that he's a great fighter in my opinion. It might not have looked good but that's how you end up looking fighting Hopkins, Taylor didn't look that great either.
