Is Everyone Looking Past JMM and Clottey a Little Too Much?

I feel like a lot of people are forgetting about JMM and Josh Clottey. I realize Cotto and Floyd are the favorites, but these guys are damn good fighters. JMM is actually great of course, and Clottey might end up being!

Clottey may have a better chance of beating Cotto, but JMM is going to give Floyd a better fight than people think. The size advantage talk should be shown to have been nothing more but talk by now.

A fighter like Marquez can fight a guy a little bigger because he's so highly skilled. He weighed 140 against Juan Diaz and Floyd has never weighed more than 150. I know Floyd is built different and probably is stronger but JMM is going to put on weight properly and really come to fight.

I just think people should have realized that size is nothing as long as the smaller fighter has great skill, especially after seeing Manny Pacquiao's recent fights. Sure, it would be different if Pac or Floyd fought a MW! It's not that extreme though!

Some people don't think Marquez looked that good his last two fights? I personally thought he was great! Maybe this is because Manny has had the easier fights (not that they were considered easy to begin with)? I do know that JMM would have beat the last three guys Pac beat and with a pretty good chance of knocking them out as well (not comparing them or saying JMM would have done it as dynamically).

I think Pacquiao and JMM are both better off after having moved up in weight. Manny's fights have been more high profile, but JMM's fights were probably a lot more difficult (in hindsight so don't try hating on me for saying so). Juan Diaz put on a great performance with JMM, but he still adjusted and found a way to win.

It's been great since Pacquiao/Marquez II how one fighter goes out and puts on a great performance then the other one comes back with another. Pac just had another, now it's JMM's turn again!

I see many are talking about Pac/Cotto, but getting by Clottey is far from certain for Cotto. Cotto may have lost to a cheating Margarito, but regardless of whether Margarito used anything on Cotto, Cotto did not fight a very smart fight at all. Shane Mosley obviously showed exactly what Cotto should not have done. If Cotto wins, I hope we see Mosley/Cotto II.

I am really glad to see Clottey and JMM get these mega-fights!

hmm says... hell yeah. I don't know why there are so many prediction threads without Clottey being mentioned and such. It's bananas to have him and JMM overlooked. didn't need to read that long post.

Clottey needs to fight like it's the fight of his life. He wins this one and its a huge payday ahead of him. Same with JMM.

Man if both upset happens it will be so sweet.

Cotto/Clottey is a 50/50 fight imo. Joshua is a very dangerous test.

I would definitely agree it could be considered 50/50, but seems like so many people are acting as if it's a forgone conclusion Cotto wins.

Why not JMM? I'm not saying he is going to win, but this is crazy to say JMM is easy, but Pac will be a hard fight for Floyd. They should both be tough fights for him! I think he''l win, but no guarantees!

I have a feeling that even if Clottey beats Cotto by UD/STOPPAGE it'll be his ONLY payday, after he'll probably be avoided EVEN MORE(maybe except by williams). A Berto fight won't happen and at welterweight Mosley is only looking for a Cotto rematch.
