Strange, heres Lewis standing next to Byrd at a press conference, doesnt look like he is ducking!

Byrds promoter paid Lewis to give up the belt so as to set up a big tournament where the final would be between 2 belthoders with the winner then facing Lewis for the Undisputed title in a big hyped fight. Byrds promoter didnt see it through though and with Jones dropping his belt after fighting Ruiz then the tournament didnt ever continue!

He chose to retire rather than answer the question.

He would have easily knocked him out early.

WALDO got floored by a fat, old southpaw who got KO'd by Rahman....which explains why Rahman got the shot against Lewis and the golfer ended up fighting old glass jaw for the meaningless WBO title - even then he was dragged from semi-retirement. The loss was never avenged either, no way would WALDO ever get into the ring with that guy again, it was a complete ownage :yep

As for WALDO ko'ing Lewis with anything, never mind a left hook :patsch

    Great wasn't it :D

Surely you could come up with quote of the week part 3 from somewhere amongst that lot?

I suspect as the Haye fight gets closer we'll be getting something like 10 of those threads every week, that's what normally happens anyway.

Disagree. He retired because he knew he couldn't knock the guy out in the rematch and also knew he'd lose if he couldn't get the big cut to work again.
He was only 37, but he knew he would be in war, plus he promised his mother, bla bla bla..Lennox was great, but he went out like a lamb.
    Smart on his part.
    Vitali outpoints a prime Lewis.
He should have been around in 98'- Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson all go down in defeat. Even Golota.
LEWIS NEVER DROPS THIS GUY, so he loses on points for sure..
    Vitali had Lewis's number.:happy

Quote of the day might be more appropriate as the fight gets closer.

Kudos for Rummy re-igniting old hatreds.

I also think that Israel should control East Jerusalem.
