    Dempsey looked "meaner". :good

I think Dempsey would possibly overwhelm Schmeling. I should probably re-watch a couple of Schmeling fights before giving a definitive answer though. Great fighters the two of them although Dempsey was greater.

i agree with that Dempsey looked like the tougher version of Schmeling and Schmeling looked like the more refined version of Dempsey

i see Schmeling being overwhelmed aswell but i rekon it would be a decent battle

Another guy not mentioned is Mike Williams. Lots of folks thought he was going to develop into something when he was a prospect. Weaver/Norton/early Holyfield were all chiseled guys in there.

I'd give this to Tom Sharkey without much thought. Sailer Tom that is.

Guy looked like a child molestor.

Imposing looking in terms of physical build, or ability to intimidate before the first bell rings?

Joe Walcott ( welter weight )
    Hagler
    Tyson

These three were short, but could intimidate.

Bigger well muscled heavies with a mean glare that can initmidate their oppoents are

    S. Liston
    V. Klitschko
    L Lewis
    J. Jeffries
    I. Icebuchi

Tony Zale. Visualy, he had a nasty look on his dial always. Even his smile looked full of bad intentions.
