An underexposed champion? TWO time champion!

Can anyone shed some light on this dude? My impression of him is of a physically strong slugger, a sort of crude Jake LaMotta who cut. Is that fair or accurate in your opinion? Not a lot of footage floating around, but here is a clip of him beating up on seemingly handy soutpaw Ki-soo Kim in front of something like 50,000 people in Milan:

Boxrec record. Lists the Fred Little fight as a NC - I believe that is a mistake, I think this one was ruled a technical stoppage after the fact:

Anyone know anything about this gent? Any fans?

He was OK. Not a truly great fighter IMO. Got away with a few questionable results over on his home turf, as I recall.

Was a decent fighter, nothing special though. He was fortunate to beat a fading Ralph Dupas twice, he was behind both times against the New Orleans phantom but caught up to him both times late if I recall correctly and stopped him, would have got his ears boxed off though against a peak Dupas, that man was some fighter and had a beautiful boxing style, a very underrated and underappreciated fighter that man is today sadly.

    Very interesting about Dupas, RB.

How do you think Mazzinghi would have done with Wajima? Might be fun, that one.

I`d pick Wajima to win on points to be honest, too unorthodox and awkward for Mazzinghi over 15 I reckon, would have been interesting to watch although probably not all that exciting. As for Dupas did you ever get around to watching his fight vs Dennis Brady that I sent you? If you haven`t watched it yet do yourself a favour and go watch it today!

Sounds good man, but why limit yourself to watching just that one fight? I sent you a bunch of them and they are all good, so do yourself a favour and watch them, I expect a full report come Monday!

A good but not great fighter ,somewhat overshadowed by Nino.
