if the quality of threads you see now had been the same 2 years ago, i never would have joined this site. its like an ignorance derby around here. the stupider your threads are, the more notoriety you get here and thats all these knuckleheads want, some acknowledgement that they are somebody. thats why they tie their self worth to that of their favorite fighters and thats why they post a thousand threads with nothing real to say. i dont know whos sadder, these bozos for being so ignorant or me for wasting my time reading their dribble.

Duran jumped from lightweight up to welterweight and beat Leonard.

Ray was young and he got goated into Durans fights remember Ray had just turned 24. He stood and traded with Duran..Funny thing about that fight is its Castillo Mayweather in reverses. After the fight Many actaully felt that Leonard won the first fight but as time went on the win seemed to get wider for Duran.

In the second fight once Duran saw that Ray wasnt going to stand and trade he quit, he know that he couldnt win the fight with Ray fighting that way. For me the fact that it was so close and Ray was young didnt fight his best dont really take away from the fact that Duran won that fight, but it was somewhat a fluke, and the notion that Duran moved up in weight to fight Ray is pure bull****. Duran was actaully fighting as a welterweight around the time Ray turned pro.

no you have it backward ray was 5-1 in his big fights duran was 1-5 just like oscar. the fact that duran was not black makes him popular with the hispanic and caucasian fans hence the excuses for all his losses to:

    1. ray leonard went 1-2 agianst one of the greatest
    2. marvin hagler
    3. tommy hearns
    4. wilfred benitez

duran couldn't handle elite boxers but his nuthuggers swear he is the best fighter of the four fighters listed above.:deal

    Duran won their first bout.

There is no way that Leonard won.

Duran is/was alot better than Floyd and Ray.

How many times did Ray defend any of his titles?

Duran fought Hagler when he was prime and did quite well, Ray on the other hand called out Hagler once he was on the slide.

    :good:good:good

leonard is just flat out better, srl fought an absolute peak version duran and made him quit. leonard fought the wrong fight in the first time around and still made duran go life and death with him. also he beat the people that beat duran.

still impressive though. id say its almost as impressive as a post prime leonard moving up 2 divisions and beating hagler.

When fighting Duran Ray was pre-prime as I stated he has just turned 24 the first time, Its a well known fact that the prime years are between 27-28 thought 32-33...But yeah your right Duran was just alot better then Ray being that he lost 2 or 3 fights and went 0-3 vs Hearns, Hagler and Benitez..Your story is soo much better then the truth:patsch

thumbs up to what??? so what your saying is that Duran was at his best for the fight the first time but past it a few months later for the rematch??? Man some of the Duran people are un-****ing-real.
