Howard Foster reff'd Hatton v Lazcano didnt he?

I love Hatton but some of that was pretty comical.

I reckon that the best domestic ref is Victor Loughlin. Very unobtrusive, doesn't jump in early but always appears to have his eye on the action.

Did a great job on the Dodson Quigley fight.

the best known ref world wide is tony weekes, bayless is good aswell

domestically the worst is that big fat guy who reffed khan/barrera and the best is micky Vann, howard foster was OK then he pissed me of in the lazcano/hatton and every fight i've seen him ref since

smoger is infamous for letting fighters go on when it should be stopped, although sometimes its a good thing like gatti vs ward when gatti looked to be clearly gone and the commentators were calling for him to stop it, but with only seconds left of the round he let gatti go on and it proved to be the right decision, i also remember him shouting to that aussie kid billy dibs "come on Australia" LOL

I agree our refs do tend to favour the favourite as well, as well stopping the fights, sometimes, stupidly early in some cases, but maybe yank refs do that as well but I don't watch many american domestic tear ups.

Brit refs are pathetic lads. There might be the odd exception but lets call a spade a spade.

Virtually all of them stop the fight when the overwhelming favourite is slapping an overmatched opponent about on the ropes. The overmatched fighter has barely a scratch and is dumbfounded as the ref can't wait to wave his arms around.

They willingly favour home Brit fighters against foreigners. No attempt to even disguise the bias, it is laughable and disgusting. Phantom shoe lace fairies, "code" nodding to the ref to step in or back.

Tony Weeks is easily the best referee in the world, I actually get excited when Weeks ref's fights he's great.

Plus he did win Flat-top of the year 5 years running and he also won Mr Olympia as a write-in candidate.

I think Mickey Vann is fine.

I am slightly biased because he is from Leeds and serves cracking breakfasts at his cafe just off the M1/M62 link.

Dave Parris is simply awful. I don't remember him ever doing a good job on a fight. John Keane is reasonable, as are Howard Foster and Ian John Lewis.

But reasonable is all. Not good, not average, just reasonable.
