DLH gets greater credit for performing his craft against a greater caliber of opponenet to a degree that makes Calzaghe look incomplete. Joe Calzaghe is a big question Mark. Hate or love DLH you know exactly how good he was as he competed with some of the best. I just cant say that about Calzaghe, well he received a decision vs Hopkins well hell even Jermain Taylor got two of those.

The same Joe Calzaghe that worked through the bum of the month club for 9 years?

By the time DLH was 30, he was a five weight world champion and HOF bound.

Calzaghe didn't even win a proper world title until he was nearly 34!

This is close. De La Hoya certainly fought the better names. I'd say De La Hoya based on his resume, although Calzaghe's is somewhat underrated.

Crazy question. These two aren't on the same level at all. Oscar by light years. His resume shames Joe, and at his peak he was a clearly superior fighter as well.

Win, Lose or draw, DLH chase after the best. People may say he lost to Tito or Mosely or Hopkins, but the least you can ask is he fought them. He made the big fights, I cant say the same for Calzaghe, who after beating Hopkins and Jones Jr, is now a ATG.

DLH is a great, may not be there with Ross, Fitz or Armstrong, but he did fight the best.

Oscar because of the quality of fighters he fought and Joe was lucky on two occasions against Hopkins & Jones when he visited the canvas after getting caught with punches that were just a shade out,if that had happened then this thread would not have started.
