Finally managed to track down Carl Thompson

One of my all-time favourite fighters. Now I just have to pluck up the courage to phone him at his house. First time I've been slightly nervous of phoning a fighter.

The guy's a legend.

He is. Just make sure you come across ok, you don't want to sound like a bumbling idiot

Sorry little new on here but Uppercut - Do you randomly ring boxers for a chat or are you a journo or something ? I'd love to just ring some boxers up for a chat ha ha class

Good on you uppercut. I may actually start doing freelance work. Just ring people up see if I can get an interview. Just go round with a camera, boxing glove and tape recorder. Ask a few questions get the glove signed get a picture taken the **** off Sounds like a plan.

Charles White put a thread up asking people for questions they would like answered etc for a fighter last week, was really cool, people gave him some good ones if i remember but am sure you got all that in the bag :good

Any autographs I get go to my baby son, Jake. I'm building a scrap book for him. One, so he can look back on my articles etc. Two, if he gets into boxing he's got some form of historical knowledge, Three, he'll think his Dad is cool! :good
