i dont agree at all. i find hatton to be one of the most genuine people in the game. it's a big thing to do what he did - drop his promoter who wasn't interested in seeing how far he could push it anyway and roll the dice against some pretty fair fighters on his way to a castillo, floyd and pacman showdown. hatton might have lost to the best fighters on the planet but dont forget that froch's fight against taylor (who is no pacman or floyd but deserves to be respected anyway) was fortuitous. froch never made the moves that hatton did and froch could quite easily have been another talented but unambitious euro casuality. very few euro fighters have done what hatton has done to make big fights happen - not wait for them.
on the subject of hatton, rich should get some credit for his boxing politics. hatton cleared away alot of the warren hold on boxing. joe left soon after, few of the olympians are happy with him. actually you dont have to be signed with warren to make it big now. you can go it alone if you have the contacts or sign with the new indie promotions around britian. hatton should be given a bit of credit.
think you will find frochs promoter has already had talks with kessler..:good froch wont run from no one....
I didn't like Froch at first, when he was hassling Calzaghe, but he's backed up the talk. Froch has no fear at all. I love the attitude of fighters like Froch and Hatton who go out of their way taking on the biggest fights possible.
Frochs work ethic is admireable. Too bad some of the incredible talents that have appeared over the last two decades didn't follow suit. As soon as they get a big win, the self promoting and cherry picking begins. They, and you , know who they are.
You don't have to love his skills in the ring, but any fan of boxing has to respect that kind of attitude in making things happen once given the opportunity. Froch deserves the attention he's getting now, and the bigger paydays he'll be getting from here on out.
Haye set the tone with going to Mormecks backyard...Hatton also with mayweather though he was getting remunerated very well! froch + haye.... young fighters coming up should take note of these 2....this is what fighting is about taking on all the challenges when they matter....( i wonder who dint do that?)
Froch is doing everything possible to undermine clazgahes career and pour scorne on clazgahes statements
Sorry, but I'm a cynic. This is nothing more than the result of Froch getting the PR people in and being told to shut his big mouth about Calzaghe and start building a fan base with all the talk people want to hear. I'd love to think it was all true and then I could eat my words and say I was wrong - and salute him. But it won't happen because he'll keep avoiding Mikkel Kessler. His statement is very astute and the work of spin. Bute, yes he'll travel to Canada and fight him, but in the meantime he'll do all he can to avoid the Calzaghe promotion of Kessler and he'd not take the fight in Nottingham, never mind the USA. I'll believe it when I see it. He picked a win out of thin air against Taylor and now he's being touted as the next big thing in British boxing. People need to keep their feet on the ground and take a lot more notice at the fact Taylors strength, as he admits, was a major surprise to him. Not exactly confidence building for a man wanting to clean up the division. He'll probably beat Bute, big deal. Kessler will eat him alive and he knows it - so he's doing his utmost to sucker all the fans in to his new 'Saviour of Boxing' attitude. Until recently he has done nothing but badmouth Calzaghe and everyone else in boxing - and this has got 'Staged PR' written all over it.
I heard him talk before the Jermain Taylor fight to Al Bernstein and even Al kinda smiled to acknowledge his supreme confidence in himself. He really believes he has what it takes and is ready to run into the higher risks possible. Now, he acknowledged that he's still not very experienced when he gave the post-fight interview to Showtime but that was after almost falling short to a decision to Taylor. I do praise his attitude, full respect to Carl "The Cobra" from Nothingham but he maybe is day dreamin just a lil bit... He maybe doesn't have what it takes to be the best. How can he not have realized this? Just if he is day dreamin like Hatton was before Floyd and Manny.
