Froch wins title v unbeaten Pascal and through choice decides to travel to the USA when he didn't have to, to make first defence v marquee fighter Jermain Taylor. He is now willing to travel to Canada to face Bute or Denmark to face Kessler although naturally would prefer those fights in the UK.

Bute wins title from Berrio who had lost four times previously and makes three hometown defences in Canada v Joppy,Andrade, and Zuniga.

So Bute has more defences to his credit and is a southpaw as well, but doesn't exactly seem to be seeking out the toughest matches.

I'm not pissing about with a poll which includes 'KO by Froch ' or 'Points by Bute' A win is a win regardless of the manner. So who wins?

NB. For the purpose of the poll, assume the venue to be neutral

Bute by wide UD anywere, anytime, if Taylor can put Froch on his ass, Bute can even spark him very soon.

    Bute KO 11

Froch his a static punching bag! great Hearts and Balls but he will need more to win this one , Froch doesn't have the workrate to tired down Bute like Andrade did and Bute won't fade like Taylor did . Bute already fought guy's with the same kind of style then Froch (Bika,Andrade ,Berrio ) all offensive punchers but Froch never face a skilled southpaw like Bute who know how to move in a ring and if Froch think like his fans and doubt about Bute's power he can be very surprise on fight night , Bute punching power he's definetly better then JT and he know how to finish opponent's

I like both these guys and this as a tough fight to call. You have to assume Froch will come out faster than he did against Taylor and his confidence level will be better as well.
Bute is a good strong Super Middleweight with good hand speed and he's pretty smart, the big blot so far is how badly he faded against Andrade. If Froch give's him time and space Bute may rack up a UD that is taking into account Bute has learnt his lesson against Andrade, but if Froch applies the pressure earlier then another spectacular KO could be on the cards. at the moment I'd side with Froch but i will probably have another re-think closer to the fight.

I very much doubt Froch will start another fight as slow as he did v Taylor. He was picking up the pace in the 3rd before the knockdown, which clearly set him back a bit.

Froch is VERY strong in later rounds and against better opponents many of his KO's have been in 2nd half of fights. If Bute fades again like he did v Andrade he has no chance. It's a fact that whenever Froch has 'hurt' an opponent he has finished them off. He's never let one off the hook

Im agree anybody who's fading against Froch his in Danger but Carl wasn't that fresh in Championship round against Pascal he was in better shape then Pascal but he was getting tired and if he open early against Bute and can't hurt him it could work against Forch in the late round!

I've never seen Bute in an out and out scrap with anyone. He kinda reminds me of Molitor like that. He's looks like a millions bucks when he's having things his way but I question his ability to stand up to punishment. He also seems a little too cute for his own good. That being said he's a much better boxer then Taylor so I can see him being good enough to shut Froch down for the whole night and aviod any punishment.

I haven't watched Bute enough to know howmany clean Froch shots he could take but my guess would be fewer then Taylor did.

Bute will use Froch as a punching bag. He is fast and moves very well, he will land 4-5 shots combos on Froch and will move before he sets anything up. Froch will try to adjust and maybe do better from the mid rounds but the result will be the same - Bute late TKO or wide UD

I'd love to but all my remaining holiday entitlement is already allocated. The new holiday year at work doesn't start till April2010 so I'm hoping Froch won't fight overseas until then.

Going to Klitschko v Haye though!!:bbb

Froch didn't start slow. He was just unable to be as fast as Taylor. He had to wait that Taylor fade to be as fast and have his shot. Bute, believe it or not, has an excellent stamina. Froch is not Andrade at all and he will be the more tired man in the ring, if the fight goes to 12 round. And Bute is a much smarter man than Taylor in a ring, with a much better footwork. Froch won't touch Bute of all evening. If I had to make a prediction today, I would say Bute by KO before 8. Easy fight for Bute, sorry for Froch fans. Speed kills.
