Dont understand what your getting worked up about bud. I cant see many people picking Calzaghe. I can see people saying Calzaghe lasts longer than 3 rounds or longer than an ancient Vinny or a minute longer than Eric Lucas. Thats it. Is that shocking to you?
Fact: Prime Calzaghe would be the best fighter that Roy has faced (Hopkins green, Toney drained) Fact: Lots of sub-par fighters went the distance with Roy Jones High possiblity: Roy Jones wins a close decision over a very busy Calzaghe 115:113.
Mah, no point in writing page after page, I simply couldn't disagree any more. Jones would have won emphatically IMO. Completely different level of fighter to Joe and to everyone Joe ever fought. His power and accuracy would have blown through Joe's sorry defence without too much trouble at all. But as you say, it's conjecture so no point in going any further really.
Such a stupid post. Sometimes I seriously doubt if you are a boxing fan at all. Thomas Hearns went the distance with Doug DeWitt, so I suppose that means Hearns couldn't stop anyone better than DeWitt by your logic, so he didn't stop Duran or Cuevas, nah I must have imagined that. Next time a hypothetical like Hearns v Trinidad is brought up, I'll remember your wisdom and say: "No way could Hearns have stopped Tito, because he didn't stop Doug DeWitt. FACT." Use your ****ing brain.
Im not embarresed by previous debates Dina. It's a public forum. What can we do. We disagree and move on. This isnt about that. Im wondering why you find it shocking that Calzaghe can last longer than an awful Vinny or a Lucas. Is it styles or what?
Yawn. How much longer is this going to go on for? I will not be replying to your posts again. You are a time-waster. I'm on here to talk boxing, not play your bizarre games. You go your way, I'll go mine, no need for animosity, it's a big forum.
Yeah, would be quality. I think Roy would be too much for him to try and work out during the fight. Could be a droppage there for Calzaghe aswell(JC being dropped that is). The last few rounds like I said would be brilliant though. Roy by ud though if my house was on it. The times Roy goes to the ropes, Calzaghe late on would chase him, and get caught, like he actually did in the fight last year(In the 6th) but more than once. Would be great though.
thats the thing, jones is too much for just about anybody. is hard to pick against jones in his prime. but calazaghe has a live shot.
Well, back then Calzaghe's hands weren't so ****ed and he could put full power into his punches, so I'd say he'd put Roid and his girl chin into a coma by 8.
when was the last time Roy knocked someone out? 1999? The guy is a Glassed Jawed fraud that was afraid to fight the best fighters available to him. His fans offer nothing but excuses and what if's regarding that China Chin of his getting shattered all over the place. He was called RELUCTANT Roy for a reason by the own network he was fighting on for christ sakes.
are u saying Reggie Johnson is ****? Cause Reggie is a very good fighter. Every loss Reggie had he only lost by 1 or 2 points. Most were SD's. But Roy Jones was the only fighter to make Reggie lose by 14 points. and Roy Jones was the only fighter to knock down Reggie, if i recall he knocked him down 2 or 3 times
Jones was too much of a sharp shooter in his prime...REAL accurate with his shots he rarely missed. Joe has always been (not easy) but easy to make contact with. Jones would stop him. Jones in his prime would make him miss and make him pay...he wouldnt stay on the ropes.
