Ring I have a feeling aa is in for some big things at 168 myself, I actually pretty much said the same thing you did a couple of months ago but was ridiculed. Kessler and Bute are my main concerns, but aa has a good shot at both in my opinion.
I was just watching a bit of Taylor/Froch again. It would not surprise me to see a first round KO if Abraham/Froch or Pavlik/Froch took place. If Arthur caught Froch with the right hand JT caught him with about 20 seconds in, he'd close the show. If Pavlik caught him with a similar right hand, he'd put Froch on the ropes and unleash hell.:yep
You must be referring to Kingsley Ikeke. I've been bludgeoned into respect for Arthur by Landshark and Finn73. They're both ******ed, but damn their persistent:yep
Yeah a poster by the name of tocca i believe use to hook me up with links to his german fights. He is so strong, I would not bet against him at this point in his career.
Yes kingsley, tall ass 6'4 or 6'6 middleweight. another thing about AA is that he carries that power into the 12th round. He is just a unique style imo.
The only time I've seen him more active was against Marquez because AA had no respect for his 'power'. AA was just the same in the second Miranda fight activity wise and lost the first few rounds, out boxed/worked by Miranda. AA will shell up against any puncher and wait for an opening. That won't work at 168 where too many have a reach advantage over him.
Interesting thread with some very interesting posts! I for one dont think that neither AA nor Pavlik are able to haul anyone at supermiddle over the coal as they are some very good fighters at aforementioned weight division. Well, lets wait and see which way the cats jump in their first fights at su permiddle!
Froch - AA would most likely KO him cuz Froch gets hit too much, Pav would win as well, maybe a UD. Green - AA would KO him, Pav would struggle a bit more but eventually KO him as well. Bute - can go either way, too close to call. Kessler - would beat both AA and Pavlik, would probably win a wide UD against AA and would win via a semi close fight against Pavlik. Andrade - would probably lose a a controversial split decision to AA, Pavlike would win via a close UD.
Both guys will be good fighters at SMW. I have no time for a detailed analysis, but in my opinion both guys could win against anybody at SMW - including Kessler. Pavlik might have the better chance though. AA will have more power at 168 than at 160. He would be the power puncher at that weight class and would make everybody without a very good defense or movement pay.
