hmm says... agree.. won't be too impressed if he wins off a smaller man, even if it's a so called "tune-up".

Pointless for PBF, he would not get any credit and rightfully so if he would win. Meaningful for JMM, he would get the props even if he would lost the fight as long as he would be competitive!

PBF is fighting the second best fighter in the world in order to re-enter the number one pfp sweepstakes.

FLoyd is going into this with every conceivable advantge and it's his fight to lose, but will be criticized if he wins and even worse if he loses.

But even with all the advantages a victory over JMM would be a good notch on his belt!

hmm says... how am I full of it when many others see it that way? Sure he's #2, it's a so called "tune-up", and an intriguing fight, but it does not change that fact that JMM is the smaller man fighting in a higher weight-class for the first time.. not at 140 but a catch-weight. It's just what other knowledgeable posters say and what almost 30 ppl voting believe. Just cause we don't see eye-to-eye does not mean we are full of it... you dig?

if jmm was a big 135-lber, i'll be more confident that he could easily move up to 140+ like pac did. but jmm is in fact a small LW. in his most recent fight, he weighed 140 during his fight w/ j. diaz while pac was 147 in his fight w/ david diaz.

pac being a big LW has made his move up in weight to 140+ more of a natural progression where he still retained his speed while seemingly exhibiting an increase in punching power, probably due to not being weight-drained anymore to make the lower weights. @148-149 fighting weight, pac is now a natural 140-lber.

I smell the scent of money in this fight for both fighters. Floyd could have challenged Pac or other elites in the WW to be considered meaningful. I won't be surprised if this will generate less that 300,000 PPVs. It's gonna be boring and a chess match.

Or maybe the fact that Marquez fought a couple of months back & would be ready a lot sooner than Pacquiao for his next fight, 19 months out is long enough, why make it 23/24 months which is what FMJ would have had to wait to face Pacquiao as everybody expected a long tough fight between Hatton & Pac.

Also... a victory over Pac`s toughest recent opponent leads to Pac + shakes off some rust.

    Think !
