I keep thinking can Mayweather outpoint Manny over 12 rounds?, Manny's punch output and work rate is very high, can Mayweather match or out punch him?. I know Mayweather slips and blocks alot of shots but Manny dont stop punching and is very accurate with his shots in out fast.

thats irrelevant when you are fighting a good counter puncher.... good counter punches make you change your work rate because you cant keep up a high work rate when your getting punched in the face... your game plan changes

An excellent boxer can cutdown on another fighter's workrate.

Mayweather's defense and accuracy will lower Pac's work rate to a degree, though to answer your question, no. I think Pac will outwork Floyd.

I agree with what's already been said. Pac's workrate will drop otherwise he will be KO'd. You can't keep up that kind of work rate when you are getting countered non stop.

    bottom line..

    PBF beats PAC 2005/2006
    PAC beats PBF 2009/2010

PBF took 22 ROUNDS to DEMOLISH ODLH and HATTON
PAC took it by 11 ROUNDS only to DEMOLISH ODLH and HATTON!!!

I will be disappointed if PAC wins by 12 UD only if he fights PBF!

HIGHLY possible if he fights like what MAB did! FIGHT to survive mode!
or Happy just to win on POINTS attitude!

Absolutely he can keep it up. Mayweather has incredible stamina and athleticism and he affords to relax using amazing defensive reflexes but I do agree that Manny is showing too much handspeed and fluid combination punching at this point so that Floyd can mix up with him justlikethat. Most probably, Mayweather will try to set the right hand from the distance and roll to make Manny stumble as he needs to come in - remember Floyd will not come so short-armed Manny will have to attack at some point and will have to throw over Mayweather's right shoulder and dive in into his shell. Basically, it's Manny's footwork speed and timing against Mayweather's defensive reflexes and counter-punching all the way.

Manny is not that easy to hit himself, he has great in out footwork and timing.

hmm says... I think the argument can go both ways.. The workrate can prove a disadvantage for Pac if PBF can counter successfully. Or, Team Pac will realize this follie and will proceed with caution; he will conserve his energy and go in to try and land the necessary shots and back off to conserve his energy or when PBF mounts an offensive... In and Out when needed... I'm thinking the latter since Team Pac and everyone knows about his countering ability. This fight can possibly go the distance if the two ever meet.

pac has a very good workrate but punches accurate and has great timing too. and he is now very wary to block counters by putting his guard up when throwing punches.

I mean seriously, how many times are people going to use this? It's as weak of a case as you can use......

Bullsh!t. Firstly styles make fights and secondly, against Manny, Oscar was a weight drained bobblehead good for nothing but target practice and Mayweather discovered and first implemented the blueprint that Manny later used to beat Hatton.

    Your argument is moot.

Not so much workrate but more overall activity level. Mayweather wont simply be able to rely on the aggression of pacquiao the whole fight as he will drop rounds based on inactivity. Marquez fought close fights with pacquiao and EM won a fight because they did not strictly counter punch, they mixed it up with pacquiao if he landed a clean shot. By doing this they made the exchanges even, and the judges focused on the clean counterpunching.

Mayweathers best shot is to go into the pocket and not fight at range. If he lets pacquiao fight at range it gives pacquiao the oppurtunity to throw his fast powerful combinations and also use is fast feet and body. I still think people vastly underestimate pacquiaos hand and also foot and body speed. To simply say that mayweather will sit back and time pacquiao coming in is nonsense. Mayweather will have to fight and exchange punches with pacquiao occasionally to win the fight.
