are you serious? manny definitely didn't use the tactics used by mayweather. pac really has the style to beat ricky. he's fast, strong and a southpaw. like you said, styles make fights.

pbf countered him, and waited for the right time.

You know, if you saw 24/7 for Floyd/Hatton or simply watch the fight,I agree with you about the blueprint Floyd set to beat Hatton. It was pretty obvious he did the same move and I'm quite sure Roach picked that up on film. Difference is one used the left hook and the other the right.

I think he will fight pacquiao because pacquiao will still be the underdog and a huge pot of cash will await. Also i think that mayweather is testing the waters with marquez. This is the first time mayweather has fought a p4p elite fighter who is in his prime or close to it (albeit smaller). If mayweather walks marquez then he will take the fight with pacquiao, however if he struggles and loses rounds he will not touch pacquiao.

Exactly right. Mayweather studied Hatton throughout the fight (cause he could give a **** about watching tape), which is why it took him 10 rounds to take advantage of Hatton's 'plant, lunge and punch' move. Roach only had to watch the PBF Hatton fight once to realize that a well timed right hook would be effective against Hatton. Plus Hatton never managed to kick the habit of dropping his non-punching hand when he lunged in, which is something you learn your third day in the gym.

I'm not convinced that Roach has the answer for PBF.

roach can possibly find answers if he studies tapes of floyd's fights w/ oscar, castillo, judah (first 4 rounds) and hatton (first 5 rounds). we hear that roach now wants pbf as pac's next opponent. who knows... maybe he has already found something in those tapes.

Answer to pbf style = straight left hand when floyd is in the pocket mode
When pbf modifies his guard mid fight to high held gloves best shot = left uppercut between gloves.

Although the problem is he could then change his guard to a david haye style of hands out in front, which he has done in the past to pick off the left hand and counter from range, reach being the factor.

Mayweather is always in tip top shape, he wont have a problem hanging with Pacquiao when he has to but make no mistake, FMJ will be doing what he can to try get Pac to `box` him, he will definitely try take the sting out of this fight & outbox Manny.... whether it happens, I hope we find out.

    Good post :good

Thats what i trying to say, Mayweather cant just hope to counter Manny for most of the fight, he will have to exchange and match high work rate or will risk losing rounds due to being out worked and punched. People under rate Manny defence system of good in out footwork timing and covering and sliping shots aswell.

I was about to say something like that, Floyd dont have to keep upwith Pacman workrate, he can slow down the pace and cruise to a victory, but dont count Pac's out yet. Pacman will be ready to go to war and maybe he will be the surprising PACMAN once again.

Highly flawed facts as I will demonstrate

Floyd beat Luis Castillio by 12 round decision Hatton KOed Castillion in 4
Floyd schools Hatton in the fine are of boxing.
Ali struggles with Ken norton and Joe frazier Big George crushes both these fighters with in 3 .

Floyd is head and shoulder above pac when it comes to boxing skill, along with the fact he is bigger and wont make the same mistakes as oscar who was weight drained , hatton who was just plain dumb and disrespectful of the smaller mans power .. Its not floyd's style to rush for a KO, he just not in a hurry or overly concerned with KOs.

Floyd is fisherman when it comes to boxing, you hear his uncle make that comparison to floyd all the time. Floyd will wait patiently and bait Pac in, allow pac to fight just enough to tire him self out or slow down, then floyd will reels him in, ground him , and then gut him , then deep fry his ass.

Floyd fighting in survival mode against pac? please man that is highly unlikely and wishful thinking on your part.
Floyd beating Pac by 12 decision or stopping him later rounds is much more realistic.
