    From Dan Rafael's notebook:

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN.com that pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao, who destroyed Ricky Hatton in two rounds to win the junior welterweight championship May 2, will fight again in October. "But we don't know against who," Arum said. "We're sorting through opponents." Arum said Pacquiao will be ringside in New York on June 13 to scout welterweight titlist Miguel Cotto, one of Arum's other stars, against Joshua Clottey. If Cotto wins, Arum said he'll try to match Pacquiao and Cotto, although he also said Shane Mosley was a possibility. One fight Arum said won't happen this year is Pacquiao against the winner of the July 18 Floyd Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez match. "Definitely not this year," he said. "Manny will fight in the fall and then we'd look to do that fight in the first part of 2010.

i want to see pac against cotto but i would rather pac rest and just wait for the winner of jmm-floyd. arum is just trying to get all the revenue in-house, one more time, just like when he pitted pac against diaz. if this is definitely pac's last fight, i would prefer him to fight the winner of jmm-floyd.

As long as he has it in plan then that's great news. I would rather see Cotto fight Mosley in a rematch if he beats Clottey, these guys have unfinished business in my opinion and need to sort it.

It's not going to happen is basically what Bob Arum is saying...but Cotto vs. Mayweather isn't to bad of a fight it just won't be the spectrum of Mayweather vs Pac.

If only Arum would listen to Roach then this could happen this year. Pac deserves an easy stay-active fight after the major fights he has been in recently, imagine Cotto then Mayweather after him again?, ridiculous in my opinion. An easy stay-active fight then fight the winner of May/Marquez in December.

Agreed - if Cotto beats Clottey, WW supremacy is undecided - only Cotto Mosley II would decide it.

if he wants to cash in on pac vs pbf he best not put Pac against cotto first cause that's gonna ruin the chances of the pbf fight going down. i see no way pac beats cotto as there's no way in hell it'll be below 147 since cotto cannot get any lower.

hmm says... are ppl forgetting about the possible elections Pac is trying to run for? that's why they are extending it to possibly 2010.
