My Vote goes to Morales. He was more complete IMO than the others

Was being Lazy when typing up that post.

Fantasy-fights... if you took the absolute best Morales, the best Barrera & the best Marquez. [[note how even with 'primes' of a career, there are PEAKS... periods where the fighter is at his absolute best... Just as how I feel there were a few years pre-154 long-stay where Oscar was at HIS absolute-best... though his prime runs up to the Sturm/B-Hop fight IMO and ended there.... unless ofcourse you feel Vargas was the real end]]. Back to this topic, That's how I feel the fights go. Trilogies galore.

Slightly irrelevant... but just thought I'd drop it before the 'but MAB beat Morales, almost beat Marquez/// arguably did if KnockDown was given etc').

Point is that 'styles make fights' and even if Marquez, or Barrera topped a leader-board of JUST these 3... doesn't mean they are automatically the best.

Note Belfort's post where he chooses Barrera simply based on him coming out on top in the trilogy. (I don't think it's that simple in choosing who is/was better, prime4prime)

I will never understand the MAB hate on this board. He beat EM in their primes. In fact, MAB had already had wars with McKinney, held titles and lost them, went overseas and back by the time he first fought the fresh as a daisy Morales.

It takes some seriously willful wishful thinking to put EM over MAB. Prime for prime, MAB beats JMM too imho. He could box just as well, and was a ton more ferocious.

Yeah fair point I just dont see how the PEAK Barrera maybe from the Hamed fight doesn't beat a PEAK Morales or JMM. Its hard really to say but I think Barrera and Morales were very close to ther peaks when they fought and Barrera gets the nod ?

Each to there own I guess :deal

    I'm gonna go with MAB.

But it's very hard to separate the three imo, not to mention I like all three boxers.

I was a big MAB fan. I clapped him in on my feet, at the MEN, out of sheer respect and admiration for the Master craftsman-- not hatred for Khan (which was half of the MEN! cheered Barrera in, booed Khan!).

He & El Terrible share many common conquered-foes, I just feel Morales was more impressive in back-to-back-to-back-to-back fights in HIS prime (allowing the MAB fights wedged in between which were WARS!!!!).

But I do agree, too much MAB hate!

it's mostly the Pac victory that clouds the issue, for a lot of people that puts EM on top regardless of anything else that happened in any of their careers. GREAT victory, no doubt, and it brought tears of joy to my eyes, but to ignore everything else is just stupid.

For me, that was the best time in boxing I've EVER had, and I was around for the end of the Ali era and all of the SRL era. Best era for featherweights of all time, and I'm a HUGE fan of all three boxers. I root for JMM against ANYONE just because he's the last one standing and once he's gone, it's really over for good.

When MAB fought JMM, I was totally confused, had no idea who I wanted to win lol...

Yes it does cloud people's eyes. But the same could be said about the Naz win-- I mean, that was the worst Naz I'd ever seen.... & it's well-known he didn't train seriously (more like a joke!)... which is all ofcourse his own fault & maybe the jab would have schooled him had he trained properly, anyway.. but I think that victory gets overplayed a tad bit too much for my liking from Barrera-only fans. (I'm a big fan of all 3).

It's damn close, though.. don't get me wrong-- it's far from clear-cut.

Maybe when my exams are done, and I trawl through my archived footage.. maybe I'll edge back towards Marco Antonio Barrera.

I am a fan of all 3 of these great Mexican warriors.
Chavez was a lil before my time... I'm still young :nut
