Anybody think there are some issues between Lowe and Arum? I mean after Rubio, it seemed like Pavlik did the right thing. He called out all the names he needed to for the fans (Sturm, Mundine, Abraham) and the names he needed to call out for Arum's purposes (Mora, Duddy).

Then you go a little further and Lowe, never one to hide his words, says that he doesn't WANT a Mora fight. That Mora has a style to damage Kelly financially more so than anything else. So now Arum has a conflict inside Team Pavlik, a head trainer trying to reject his hand picked fight. Arum is NEVER one to hold a grudge as we say so basically he tells Team Pavlik to take the fight or f*ck off for a little while. Lowe comes back later on and kind of sort of does a retrraction, stating that he doesn't know if the fans think it will be a bad fight. That he hasn't spoken to anyone about it. Obviously that's a little hard to believe considering Pavlik's ties to his fanbase.

Flash foward a little while further. Kelly gets an injury to his hand (an infection can be considered an injury right?) and the fight may be in some trouble. Instead of contacting Team Pavlik to get the full lowdown, Bob Arum perhaps a bit over engaged with Manny Pac and hyping Clottey/Cotto or perhaps still angry at Lowe for actively attempting to sabatoge his plans decides "**** This" and postpones the fight til September. This obviously pisses off Lowe as it seems like they weren't even talked to about it. We can speculate whether Pavlik wanted time off and even if that was the case, You would figure Arum and company would meet with him to discuss their plans. After all you don't go into battle without knowing what country you're fighting (and when), You'd figure they'd be working together.

This combined with Pavlik talking more like someone whose spending TOO MUCH time with Bob Arum leads me to believe we may have some splintering between Lowe and Arum (or more)

Right. It DOES seem like it's slowly splintering.

It seems like just last Feb, Arum was talking about Pavlik being the guy to bring boxing back to the ABC, NBC and CBS type networks. Now he's trying to say that racism is holding Pavlik back from all that.

I used to joke on this site that with the way Arum bounced Pavlik around for fights, it's like he never had any plans for him. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe that's the case and Arum is simply playing it off the hip.

Team Pavlik found out Arum cancelled the Mora fight when Mike Pavlik read it on the internet. AND, they found out about plans for a Mora fight when some reporter call a member of Team Pavlik. And this **** did not start with Mora. It's been going on since the Lockett fight ( if you can call that a fight.) There is a serious problem here, and Kelly needs to stop playing the whole "I fight who they tell me to" routine and start taking some resposibility for his career. That "I'll fight godzilla if they ask me to" routine worked when Kelly was tearing through the division like a bull in a china closet, but it ain't working now!

i couldnt agree with you more. Its time for pav to step up.
This does seem to be how **** works here in youngstown. The main boss has it all planned out in his head. He says nothing to his management. Who in turn dont tell the supervisors. Then when someone brings it up, everyones says thats the first i heard of that.
If kelly wants to be an atg, then he needs to put his foot down and start clearing out the middle and super middlewieghts. Demand the top fights, demand the top fighters. If Arum dont want to, then go somewhere else.
