herol graham, my type of fighter slipping, countering and being savy unfortunate to be around at a time of killers (julian jackson, mike mccallum) gave them fits though

Why is Nigel Benn so popular?

I mean, I'm not even sure why I'm such a big fan. I suppose he just has that credibility and authenticity that some of his peers lack.

good to see the love of Ken Buchanan one of Britains top top fighters the elite of Britain.

One of the best lightweights ever IMO. Great skills and defence wrapped off by a great jab combined with grit, determination, solid chin and tremendous heart.

    and he is scottish

    Lots of reasons really:

1 ) Involved in some of the biggest fights a British fighter has ever partaken in
2 ) Prevailed as the massive underdog against a p4p fighter
3 ) Had that 'valero' type record at the beginning of his career
4 ) He was the 'good' guy battling against 'evil' (eubank)
5 ) Had great knockout power
6 ) Was vulnerable, which made his fights more exciting
7 ) Went over to the States to prove himself
8 ) Was in possibly the biggest British rivalry of all time with Eubank
9 ) Heart, determination and never backed down from a fight
10 ) Was our 'British Tyson'
    11 ) Was a genuine bad-ass

Sure there are more I could think of :good
