Imagine if that one judge had not made that mistake and Pac had gotten both decisions. Some people would be slitting their wrists here. Imagine if the ref would have counted that second legit KD Pac got on JMM in the second fight in round 3.
If you are in the mood for watching the fight again in full with an open mind, I will PM you my scorecard. If you don't have time or just can't be bothered watching the whole thing all over again fair enough, I won't send you it as there's no point as right now you wouldn't see where I'm coming from at all. Up to you dude, if you're at all interested I'll send but if you choose to pass then I don't mind at all. :good
I had Pacquiao winning the first fight by 2 or 3 points, it's been awhile since I watched it. I had Marquez winning the rematch by one point.
Whats going to happen after I watch it again, and you watch again? I doubt we'll change each others minds. I have watched it a few times since it happened. I believe I had Marquez winning by 2-3 points.
Most of the late rounds were close, which is why there's a wide discrepancy in scorecards. Pac knocks JMM down in round 1, round 2 is closer, and JMM more or less dominates from round 3 til about 7. From round 8 on, the rounds were close, with neither guy really establishing control or winning rounds by wide margins. Because of the last 5 rounds, you get all sorts of scorecards ranging from 7-5 Pac to 8-4, 9-3 JMM.
PM'd you my scorecard and some comments anyway. 9-3 just is not justifiable IMO. If you have a look and think I'm just talking a load of BS, then fair enough, we'll agree to disagree!
Pac won both fights pac-jmm 1- round 1 judges error 10-6 instead of 10-7 pac-jmm 2 - pac won 114-113 nuff said
2004 - Marquez 114-112 2008 - Marquez 115-113/112 (dont have my score at hand but its one of the two)
first fight goes to pac by 1 point, 2nd fight goes to marquez by 2 points. damn this question is subjective public opinion still varies
I gave both to Pacquiao. The first fight was supposed to go to Pacquiao as the stupid judge admitted she made a mistake by scoring the first 10-7 rather than 10-6 and the rematch I had Pac by one round.
