That's what makes this fight interested and the reason why Mayweather returned. We will find out soon I'm sure.

 

All these people talking about Mayweather running are full of it. You box to win. It may not be fan friendly, but this is sport. Also, anyone knows that Zab's lead right was one of the fastest in the game. (He put Mayweather on the floor with it!) To say he can't handle a fast jab is foolish.

People let hating a man's persona translate into downplaying his fighting skill. Don't confuse the two. I think Mayweather should have done more at welter too so don't go saying I am just some blind follower, but at the end of the day his talent can't be denied.

 

personally, I have nothing against Floyd's persona. I judge boxers by what they do in the ring.

 

First off, you have no credibility on the subject of Pacquiao because you ranked him around 120th in your abysmal top 400, around 70 places behind your beloved Joe Calzaghe. Not even Enzo Calzaghe would have anything like that gap between those two guys.

If your ratings are ever to have any credibility, you can't make statements like this. You are basically saying, I like Mayweather more so I'm ranking him higher. That's infantile and irrational.

What if Mayweather loses to Marquez, or even just scrapes a decision against him but looks bad doing so, and retires again for good.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao beats Marquez, then Cotto, and then maybe someone like Mosley or even Vernon Forrest at lmw, maybe Edwin Valero too. Say Pacquiao continues for another three years, continues his stunning form, and retires as a SEVEN weight world champion, first flyweight world champ in history to win titles at lightweight and beyond, and with an absolutely glittering resume of all the best fighters from superfeather to welter built up over the course of a decade.

Of course not. Pac already has a better resume and better weight-jumping achievements, and if he continues to widen these gaps then the only reason you could possibly have for still having Floyd higher would be your own personal preference. But if you are talking about rankings and the like, your personal preference has to be shelved for the credibility of the list, otherwise the list is meaningless and is just a list of your favourites. Be objective and analytical, or be honest but don't talk about rankings and lists if you are not capable of forming them properly.

 

I've been saying it all along. Who is gonna outbox who? Pac over Floyd, sure. Floyd is too smart, he ain't gonna fall for Manny's bs. Floyd will win.

Floyd fans like Pac but Pac fans give no credit to Floyd. This has always been the case. But if Marquez and his style was Pac's Kryptoniam then Floyd will pick up where he left off. This is no easy fight for either guy.

Mayweather is a superb fighter, but he hasn't dared to be the best he can be. Manny Pacquiao is truth positive.

you're right, he's a superb fighter, one of the best if not the best of our generation. too bad he retired without showing us how great he is. actually, i'll pick him over the top welters (cotto, mosley, margo) but he didn't fight them. the only fighter that i think may give him problems is pw, but he's not a selter anymore
