On the whole an excellent performance from Sexton but I'd be worried if I'd bet on him over 12 rounds.

 

He was getting tired but was certainly winning on my score card. All things said, he came into a hostile crowd and done his thing. Shoulde have been KO'd but that's Rogans issue.

 

Good win for Sexton but neither of these two are going much further, so a good payday for the rematch will do them good.

 

He stuck to his gameplan well and Marty should and could have finished him with his power.

Well done Sam Sexton.

 

Yeah he boxed and moved well but for most part his punches didn't look like they were troubling Rogan and then the stoppage there, I can't find much to credit Sexton with that. He did have Rogan really shook at one point but couldn't finish it.

But well done on coming out the underdog and getting the win.

 

Got to agree.. He stuck to his game plan... I am suprised that Rogie gave him th erange to work that jab.. I thought Rogie would have boxed him with his nose on his chest and roughed him into his fight... not good giving Sexton the range... a sad ending but Sexton just edged it for me... I thought that Dave Parris has had better nights.....:--(

 

Missed the fight as i already said on annother thread,but ive liked Sexton when ive watched him and it sounds as though he gave Rogan more greif than people thought he would.At least the domestic heavyweight scene has some decent fights to offer us for a change.A rematch of this fight,the winner in with Danny or mccdermot then there is Skelton.It makes a change for our heavyweights to have some decent fights between each other on the horizon.

 

He fought well and outboxed Rogan for the majority of the fight, so he deserves credit for that. But pulling a dirty trick at the end, turning his back, gobbing his gumshield out, holding round the back of the head, headbutting and constantly winging to the ref certainly degrades his praiseworthiness.

 

yes he was great at headbutting, holding, turning his back, hiding his head, spitting his sheild out and trying to con Rogan into thinking the fight was over!

Sexton admitted that being the visiting fighter in front of 10,000 Martin Rogan fans wasn't the nicest experience. "That was the most hostile place on earth, obviously I came in and they all wanted blood, they were there for their man Martin Rogan, but I just had to block that out," he said.
"As I came through the tunnel they were throwing drinks at me, even spitting at me, but I only had one focus, and that was in the ring."

Sexton does desrve an awful lot of credit though

 

Sexton did well but it was a 12 round fight. A slow fighter like Rogan is never gonna have it easy early on v anyone who is faster, taller and rangier. When Rogan started getting to him, his eye began closing. Remember, Rogan had a good few rounds at the end. They would have been better if he could see.
